Over 700 candidates were admitted to postgraduate training programs in 2012.

On November 9, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities solemnly held the opening ceremony for the postgraduate training course of the 2012-2013 academic year.The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc - Head of the Training Department of Hanoi National University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu - Vice Rector of the University, and leaders of the Faculties/Departments and functional offices of the University. In the 2012-2013 academic year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had over 1,000 candidates taking the entrance exams for 27 master's degree programs and 18 doctoral degree programs. The results showed that 690 candidates were admitted to master's programs, including 38 transfer students and 414 candidates who took the entrance exam; and 49 candidates were admitted to doctoral programs, including 2 transfer students and 47 candidates who took the entrance exam. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu declared the commencement of postgraduate training for the 2012-2013 academic year and congratulated the admitted master's and doctoral students. The Vice Rector discussed several issues related to postgraduate learning methods and emphasized that lecturers and postgraduate students/researchers need to strive for "good teaching, good learning." At the same time, the Vice Rector hoped that postgraduate students/researchers would overcome life's difficulties and personal challenges to successfully complete their training program. Immediately after the opening ceremony, postgraduate students/researchers were briefed on the postgraduate training regulations. Following this, the Faculties/Departments also held meetings with postgraduate students/researchers to announce the class schedule.
