On November 5, 2012, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Thi Phung, along with a team of consultants from the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management, met with staff members to assess the current state of departments and implement a survey on the application of ISO quality management systems at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. This is one of the activities in phase 1 of the ISO implementation process at the University in the near future. Accordingly, the objective of the survey is to clarify the functions and responsibilities of each department and functional unit; to clarify the main and regular activities of each department during the year; to describe work processes and procedures; and to clearly state the advantages and difficulties in practical operation… The consulting team will coordinate with the focal point staff of each department to carry out this work. The consulting team will send a detailed survey plan and guidance to each unit, with a specific work plan for each unit this December. After surveying and evaluating the current state of the management system in the departments, the expert team will work with the units to develop completely new procedures for areas of work that currently lack specific procedures, supplement incomplete procedures, and replace outdated work procedures. It is expected that in early 2013, the University will implement phase 2 of the ISO application process at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, which involves compiling and disseminating quality management system documents. Phase 3 will be implemented at the end of 2013: implementing the quality management system according to ISO standards. And in early 2014, phase 4 will be implemented: certifying the University's quality management system as meeting ISO standards.
