This morning, November 11th, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the opening ceremony for the international joint training courses in Tourism Management and Public Administration for the academic year 2009-2010.
This is the first course within the framework of the international collaborative training program between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Guangxi University (China).

Associate Professor Pham Trong Quat - Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi - attended the opening ceremony. Representatives from Guangxi University included Mr. Yan Shibing - President of the Academy of Commerce, Mr. Wei Ribing - Secretary of the Academy of Public Administration, and Mr. Li Jiajun - Deputy Head of the International Relations Department, Guangxi University.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - stated: This is the first cohort of students at the University to be trained under the 2+2 bilateral cooperation model. Graduates will possess both foreign language skills and specialized professional knowledge. The University expects the training effectiveness of this program and considers it a priority direction for future development. With Guangxi University, a reputable partner with great potential in training and teaching, the University also hopes to continue long-term cooperation in larger and more diverse collaborative programs.

Representing the partner institution, Mr. Yan Shibing, President of the Academy of Commerce at Guangxi University, stated that this is a very important event in the international cooperation between the two universities and expressed confidence that this cooperation program will be successful.
Associate Professor Pham Trong Quat - Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi - highly appreciated this cooperation, especially in the context of international collaboration being a major policy of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. He hoped that this program would contribute to expanding learning opportunities for Vietnamese students, developing the strengths of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and creating high-quality human resources to serve national development. Following this success, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities should expand this joint training program to many new training disciplines, contributing to elevating the level of the University's international cooperation programs.

The first cohort of students in Tourism Management and Public Administration in 2009 enrolled 42 students. The course lasted four years, with the first two years at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the following two years at Guangxi University. The diploma was awarded by Guangxi University.
