In 2021, the Vietnamese Government issued the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the period 2021-2030 with the aim of continuing to narrow the gender gap in many areas, including education and training. Recognizing the importance of promoting an enabling environment for women and men to participate in and enjoy all aspects of academic careers, the Australian Volunteer Program has granted the “Impact Effectiveness Grant 2023 - 2024” to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to support female lecturers and researchers in member units, affiliated units, offices and functional departments with the aim of:
- Increase the number of women holding key leadership and management positions;
- Increase scientific research products of female lecturers and researchers
- Reduce the time burden of unpaid care work for women
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities will organize successive exchanges and experience sharing sessions, including: Exchange and sharing of experiences in improving management and leadership capacity in scientific research (expected in mid-November 2023); Exchange and sharing of experiences in promoting scientific research activities (expected in mid-February 2024).
Female lecturers and researchers in member units, affiliated units, offices and functional departments can register to participate in one or both of the above exchanges and experience sharing sessions by the deadline.

About the Exchange and sharing of experiences to promote scientific research activities- 10 female lecturers and researchers will be selected to participate in the two-day exchange and experience sharing on scientific publication in international peer-reviewed journals. Participants will be guided and supported by a team of advisors who are researchers with a long history of scientific publications in prestigious journals in the process of writing and completing scientific articles in English for international publication.
- After the general experience exchange, members will have further individual discussions with professional support advisors to improve the quality of manuscripts to meet the criteria for scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
- The project will provide a support fund for members with young children (1 million VND/1 member/1 month, for at least 02 months) to help promote female lecturers and researchers to proactively and actively participate in and complete the content of experience exchange activities.
- Admission criteria:+ Doctorate degree or equivalent;
+ Have children under 16 years old;
+ Have at least 01 scientific article published in peer-reviewed international journals, or 01 chapter in a monograph written in a foreign language published by foreign publishers with an ISBN index;
+ Registered members will submit a summary of the scientific article (in draft form, not yet completed), maximum 200 words, in English. Selected members will continue to develop this draft into an article with a maximum of 8,000 words, in English and submit it before the exchange and experience sharing takes place in mid-February 2024.
