To promote physical training to strengthen and improve health, create a healthy and beneficial playground, and contribute to enhancing the cultural and spiritual life of students, the Ministry of Education and Training, Latsata Company, Let's Viet Television Channel – VTC9, the General Department of Physical Education and Sports, and the Vietnam Football Federation are jointly organizing the "Student Arts, Sports and Beauty Contest 2012" (U-League II - 2012) with 3 competition categories: Futsal, Cheerleading, and Miss U-League.The Northern Qualifiers of the 2012 U-League took place at the Hoang Mai District Gymnasium from December 9th to December 30th, 2012, with the participation of eight universities: Foreign Trade University, Hung Vuong University, Phuong Dong Private University, Agricultural University, Dai Nam University, University of Economics (VNU), University of Foreign Languages (VNU), and University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU). This was the second year that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities participated in the U-League. Besides the experienced players from the previous season, this year, our Futsal and Cheerleading team (named Rumbo) has recruited a generation of young, passionate, and talented players. With a core group of students from the K55 and K56 cohorts, along with new recruits from the K57 cohort, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities team promises not only to make a name for itself in the U-League 2012 but also to become a formidable opponent in subsequent seasons. Witnessing the efforts of the students and feeling the excitement of the tournament, before the Northern regional finals, the faculty members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities enthusiastically raised funds to support the team's prize money. Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Dinh Viet Hai, Deputy Head of the Training Department, the prize fund received 10,598,000 VND from faculty members in the Board of Directors, Departments, and Faculties of the university.

After three exciting weeks of the northern qualifiers, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities secured a place in the regional finals in all three competitions: facing Phuong Dong University in the final Futsal match; competing with the Pinky Cheerleading team from the Foreign Trade University for a spot in the national finals; and student Bui Thi Thuy Linh was among the four most beautiful and talented girls. We were considered a special phenomenon of the tournament, being the only school to come close to winning the championship in all competitions. However, the young and passionate team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was eliminated in the northern regional finals of the U-League 2012, conceding the opportunity to compete in the national finals to opponents from the Foreign Trade University (Cheerleading), Phuong Dong University (Futsal), and Hung Vuong University (Miss). We lacked a bit of composure and a bit of luck, but we left a good impression in the northern qualifiers and instilled confidence in the hearts of the Humanities fans – those who enthusiastically set the Hoang Mai gymnasium ablaze every Sunday afternoon and achieved a hat-trick of Fan Awards across three rounds. Once again, we sincerely thank the teachers and students who have always been there to encourage and support our team, and we commend the dedication and fighting spirit of our players. See you again at U-League 2013!
