In order to promote the physical training movement to strengthen and enhance health, create a healthy and useful playground, contribute to improving the cultural and spiritual life of students, the Ministry of Education and Training, Latsata Company, Let's Viet TV Channel - VTC9, General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Vietnam Football Federation jointly organized the "2012 American Student Sports and Culture Competition" (U-League II - 2012) with 3 competition categories: Indoor Football (Futsal), Cheerleading and Miss U-League.The Northern Qualifying Round of U-League 2012 took place at Hoang Mai District Gymnasium from December 9, 2012 to December 30, 2012 with the participation of 8 universities: Foreign Trade University, Hung Vuong University, Phuong Dong Private University, University of Agriculture, Dai Nam University, University of Economics (VNU), University of Foreign Languages (VNU), University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU). This is the second year that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has participated in the U-League. Besides the experienced players from last season, this year, our Futsal and Cheerleading team (named Rumbo) has selected a generation of young, passionate and talented players. With the core of students from K55, K56 and new recruits from K57, the team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities promises not only to make a splash in the U-League 2012 but also to become a formidable opponent in the following seasons. Witnessing the efforts of the students and feeling the heat of the tournament, before the northern final match, the teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities enthusiastically raised funds to support the prize for the school team. With the efforts of Mr. Dinh Viet Hai, Deputy Head of Training Department, the prize fund received 10,598,000 from teachers in the Board of Directors, Departments, Offices and Faculties in the school.

After 3 exciting weeks with the northern qualifying round, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities won a place in the regional finals in all 3 competitions: meeting Phuong Dong University in the final match of Futsal; together with the Cheerleading team named Pinky of Foreign Trade University competing for a ticket to the national final; student Bui Thi Thuy Linh was also among the 4 most beautiful and talented girls. We were considered a special phenomenon of the tournament because we were the only school that came close to winning the championship on all fronts. However, the young and passionate squad of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities stopped at the northern final of U-League 2012, giving the opportunity to compete in the national final to opponents from Foreign Trade University (Cheerleading), Phuong Dong Private University (Futsal) and Hung Vuong University (Miss). Lacking a little courage and a little luck, we left a good impression in the northern qualifying round and the trust in the hearts of Nhan Van fans - who passionately burned down Hoang Mai Stadium every Sunday afternoon and won a hat-trick of Fan Awards through 3 rounds. Once again, I would like to sincerely thank the teachers and students who have always been there to support, cheer and encourage our team and would like to praise the spirit of training and fighting with all our hearts of the players. See you again at U-League 2013!
