International Scholar Exchange Program 2013-2014

Sponsored by the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS), the Asia Research Center, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ARC) would like to announce the International Scholar Exchange Fellowship Program (ISEF) for the year 2013 - 2014.

Object

Staff currently working at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (Those who have done research in Korea, those who have received ISEF scholarships and those whose main purpose is to teach in Korea are not eligible for this scholarship)

Selection criteria

• Under 50 years old.
• Have a PhD degree or higher (at the time of application)
• Have sufficient research qualifications in English (priority given to those with international certificates)

Field of research

• Social Sciences and Humanities (Majors: Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, Public Administration, Law, Sociology, Education, Psychology, Anthropology, Journalism, Geography, Philosophy, History, Literature).
• Energy related fields: Petrochemical technology and related fields.
• Information Science and Technology: Electrical Engineering (Electronics Science), Telecommunications, Computer Science and related fields.
• Life sciences.

(Those in fields of study not listed above are not eligible for this scholarship)

Research time

• 01 year - From 01/09/2013 to 31/08/2014
• 06 months - From 01/09/2013 to 28/02/2014; or - From 01/03/2014 to 31/08/2014

Scholarship details

* Research support: 2,500,000 won/month (equivalent to approximately 2,300 USD) (Equivalent to 30,000,000 won/year for 1-year research or 15,000,000 won/year for 6-month research) (Research support amounts will vary based on expertise and experience, up to 3,500,000 won/month) * Thesis support of 1,000,000 won after submitting the research report at the end of the semester (August 2014 for 1-year research; February 2014 or August 2014 for 6-month research) (The scholarship is only valid for scholars who are present in Korea within 1 month from the date of notification from KFAS) * Initial stabilization support: 1,000,000 won.
