Former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has died at the age of 68.

On the morning of October 27, Chinese state media announced that former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang had passed away at the age of 68.

According to Chinese state media, Li Keqiang was born in 1955 in Dingyuan, Anhui Province (China). After graduating with degrees in law and economics from Peking University, he held various positions. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1976 and served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China for the 17th, 18th, and 19th terms. He served as Premier of China from 2013 to 2023 and made significant contributions to the country's development.
During his time as Prime Minister, Li Keqiang was known for his strong support of economic reform efforts. In his final speech as outgoing Prime Minister in March 2023, Li Keqiang expressed confidence that the Chinese economy was recovering steadily and had tremendous momentum to boost growth.
During his term in office, Li Keqiang had the opportunity to accompany a delegation from the People's Republic of China to Vietnam and work at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi in October 2013. This visit opened up new opportunities for development between the two countries in general and promoted cooperation between educational institutions in particular for the benefit of the younger generation.
Speaking about the role of the younger generation, the former Chinese Prime Minister emphasized: "The future of Vietnam-China friendship lies with you, the students, with the younger generation of both countries." To fulfill this responsibility, young people need to cherish their time and constantly strive to study, train, and become contributors to national development and promote friendly cooperative relations between the two nations.
