Attending the meeting, on behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were Professor and Principal Hoang Anh Tuan; Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice Principal; Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Principal, Dr. Pham Hoang Giang - Head of the Faculty of Philosophy, and representatives of the leaders of the Training and Scientific Research Management Departments.
On the guest side, there were Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tai Dong - Director of the Institute of Philosophy, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Van Trung - Director of the Institute of Physics - Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and many lecturers and researchers interested in the field of Philosophy.
At the beginning of the meeting, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan shared: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is one of the key training units under VNU, and is a leading unit in training and research on social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. Especially in the research and teaching program of basic sciences, VNU - USSH has the task of developing new interdisciplinary training directions, keeping up with modern trends but still maintaining the classical academic quality.
The Faculty of Philosophy, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, is a prestigious and high-quality institution for training human resources for research and teaching Philosophy nationwide. Students of the Faculty are equipped with basic, fundamental to advanced knowledge in the field of Philosophy, thereby grasping the stance and viewpoints of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought, applying them to solve practical problems and integrating with the international philosophical community. With an academic foundation aiming at building interdisciplinary research and training directions, the Faculty's programs are regularly updated and innovated to equip students with practical knowledge associated with scientific research activities.
Principal Hoang Anh Tuan made proposals on establishing a strong Research group, orienting topics and Philosophy seminars in the coming time.
Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai - Permanent Deputy Director of VNU acknowledged the contributions and achievements of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and emphasized the urgency of innovating the content and teaching methods in the field of Philosophy. According to him, with the advantage of being a pioneer in Philosophy training in Vietnam, the innovation in the curriculum of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will have great impacts, contributing to affirming the importance of Philosophy in the map of Vietnam's education. Currently, following the interdisciplinary trend in university training, and with two new approaches "Philosophy in Science" and "Science in Philosophy", the University of Social Sciences and Humanities needs to research, learn and choose a suitable approach, aiming at the rights and quality of learners.
Accordingly, with its strengths in expertise and multidisciplinary nature, and the advantage of having students from many levels of education, VNU will support the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in researching and updating specialized knowledge for the Philosophy sector, through specific activities such as publishing books, promoting international publications and general research on Philosophy through major issues in modern society.

Vice President Dao Thanh Truong said: With experience in interdisciplinary training and research, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will promote international publications, as a premise to build strong research groups in the field of Philosophy. The school has been implementing many seminars to popularize knowledge for graduate students, doctoral students, and lecturers of the faculty on specific topics, linked to research topics and social practices. Accordingly, the compilation of books and lectures by topic to include in the lecture system will also be implemented.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen An Lich - Former head of the first generation of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vice President of the Philosophy Association, raised many views on the importance of student orientation and the factor of connection with universities around the world. In the new context, Philosophy needs to be specialized for each profession, demonstrating its suitability and high connection with other scientific majors.
At the meeting, the parties agreed to deploy 3 key contents to focus on in the coming time:
- Innovating philosophy training towards interdisciplinary direction and building strong school-level research groups in the field of Philosophy
- Building a system of learning materials, translating research and multilingual books
- Professional training program series for school lecturers.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Hai Minh - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Philosophy, Academy of Journalism and Communication affirmed the success in the cooperation process between VNU - USSH and research institutes.
Dr. Tran Thi Dieu proposed a number of recommendations on creating conditions for students to study for dual degrees, providing scholarships and expanding to other majors.
