Celebration of Vietnamese Women's Day, October 20th: Honoring female staff members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On the morning of October 14th, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, solemnly organized a ceremony to celebrate Vietnamese Women's Day on October 20th, along with a series of events honoring female staff and lecturers in a warm yet vibrant atmosphere.

Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the school; Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - President of the school's trade union; and nearly 600 teachers from 22 departmental trade unions.
The school was especially honored to welcome the following guests at the ceremony: Dr. Phung Lan Huong – Head of the Women's Affairs Committee of Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Dr. Nguyen Phuong Thao – Head of the Women's Affairs Committee of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering; Dr. Nguyen Thu Le Hang and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang Nga – University of Foreign Languages, VNU Hanoi, along with representatives from various units within the school.
Opening the ceremony, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University, delivered a speech and congratulated the female staff on Vietnamese Women's Day, October 20th. Professor Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed that the female staff and lecturers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities not only possess strong expertise, abundant health, enthusiasm, and creativity, but are also skillful, capable, and multi-talented – embodying the most exquisite beauty of contemporary Vietnamese women. The female staff have made significant contributions to the development of the University. The activities of the female staff at the University are very vibrant and spread a spirit of humanism.

Ms. Vu Thi Thu Hang – Head of the Women's Affairs Committee of the University's Trade Union – shared about the outstanding activities of the women's affairs work in the 2022-2023 academic year and the tradition of caring for, supporting, and encouraging female staff members at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The university's trade union has launched and organized many diverse activities to contribute to improving the professional capacity and spiritual life of female staff members throughout the university. In the 2022-2023 academic year, over 98% of female staff members achieved excellent work performance, 155 female staff members received awards at various levels, and the female staff actively participated in patriotic emulation movements, building happy families, raising children well, and teaching them good values. Women's affairs activities focused more on depth and grassroots level, with many innovations in content and form, attracting a large number of female staff members to participate.
Notable activities include:
  • Organized a field trip and survey for all female staff members in Hoa Binh (October 20, 2022)
  • Commending the academic achievements of children of officials and employees (July 2023)
  • Connecting units and organizations to hold a seminar "Love from Conflict" (March 8, 2023)
  • Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration Program for Children of Staff (September 2023)
  • In collaboration with the VIBE project, we donated traditional Vietnamese dresses (áo dài) to female freshmen (September 2023).
  • Launching the "Week of Ao Dai to School" to welcome the new school year (September 2023)
At the ceremony, the organizing committee honored 16 outstanding female officials in various fields:areas of scientific research and teaching, management, and outstanding performance in trade union activities.

At the celebration of Vietnamese Women's Day on October 20th, female staff members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities met and conversed with two speakers from the Liberal Arts Education community of the University of Foreign Languages ​​- Vietnam National University, Hanoi: Dr. Nguyen Thu Le Hang and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang Nga. The discussion took place in a warm atmosphere, with lively and insightful sharing of new yet relevant knowledge in daily life. Through the definition of happiness, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, and reflections on the balance between inner and outer life, the female staff members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities gained new perspectives and knowledge about life, work-life balance, and methods for cultivating a healthy mental life.
