The Temple of Literature was built in 1070 under the reign of King Ly Thanh Tong, as a place to worship Confucius, Confucian sages and Chu Van An, the rector of the Imperial Academy - a highly moral and virtuous teacher of Vietnamese education. The Imperial Academy was built in 1076 under the reign of King Ly Nhan Tong, as a place to train talented people for the country, considered the first university of our country.
In the sacred atmosphere of early spring, the delegation of school officials solemnly and respectfully performed the ceremony of presenting congratulatory documents and offering incense at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam in Dai Thanh Mon area, to express their remembrance and gratitude to the ancestors and sages who had the merit of "opening the source of universities", building the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam as a symbol of Vietnamese education.
With the spirit of “Descendants of Truong Giam for thousands of years”, along with the tradition of “Respecting teachers and valuing education”, “When drinking water, remember its source”, this activity not only reminds the school staff of the responsibility and important role of those working in education but also expresses the wish for a new year with new determination, expectations and achievements.
