Professor Arturo Giraldez will collaborate with the Department of History to organize a three-day series of seminars (March 5-7, 2018) at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with three main themes:
During the two years from 2009 to 2011, Professor Giraldez had the opportunity to visit Vietnam three times to conduct research, work, and share his research findings with scientists, students, and trainees; to support the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in teaching the Master's thesis on Vietnamese History; and to publish the article "The Philippines and Globalization for the First Time" (in Vietnamese) in the journal Historical Studies in 2009. This time, he came to Vietnam to share new research on global history and its impact on Vietnamese history in many aspects: economics, ecology, and Latin-based archival documents.
On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan expressed sincere gratitude and hoped that Professor Giraldez would continue to exchange and share historical knowledge at the University. In response, Professor Giraldez highly appreciated the warm welcome and thoughtful arrangements made by the University. He expressed his willingness to conduct joint research with the University's History Department.

Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan exchanged commemorative gifts with Professor Arturo Giraldez.
