Lunch Box Club for English 28 took place on February 2, 2018 with the theme: Introducing the Lunar New Year in Vietnam.

This regular Lunch Box Club meeting welcomed special guests, a group of students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - who will represent the school's youth to participate in the Asian + 3 program taking place in Thailand in the near future. They are: Tran Huu Viet Khoi (Faculty of Sociology), Dang Thanh Hai (Faculty of Journalism and Communication), Nguyen Nhat Linh (Faculty of International Studies), Nguyen Thi Phuong (Faculty of Tourism Studies). The Asian + 3 program is a series of cultural and language exchange activities between students from ASEAN countries and Japan, Korea, and China. Students from these countries have the opportunity to introduce their country's culture and history and connect with international student networks in the ASEAN and Asia regions for joint cooperation activities.

To prepare for the above important activity, a group of students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities shared with teachers who are members of the Lunch Box Club for English the presentation that the group will bring to Asean + 3 with the topic:The Lunar New Year in Vietnam.

With the desire to help international friends feel the beauty and uniqueness of Vietnam's Tet traditions, the group of students has carefully prepared content and eye-catching illustrations of Vietnamese Tet customs such as: greetings showing the tradition of respecting the elderly and the bond of family and friends; the custom of wrapping banh chung and making traditional dishes for Tet; ways to decorate the house for Tet; the custom of going to the pagoda to pray for good luck at the beginning of the year; taboos during Tet; the custom of giving lucky money for the New Year; fireworks activities to welcome the New Year and the famous TV show Tao Quan - an indispensable spiritual food for people during the spring...

Praising the presentation of the student group, the teachers also gave them many tips to make the speech more vivid and attractive such as: comparing Tet customs in Vietnam with some other Southeast Asian countries, needing more details to highlight the image of the School in the group's activities, needing more emotional elements in a topic honoring the beauty of national culture...

The last part of the meeting was the sharing that received much attention from members about a narrow topic also related to Tet: traveling abroad during Tet to experience the culture of other countries and enjoy life or having a warm Tet with relatives and family, which way do you choose?

Lunch Box Club for Enghlish continues to expand its discussion topics and constantly welcomes new guests to join the activities to bring richness to the English practice experience.
