Assessment for certification of Quality Management Systems according to ISO 9001:2015 standard.

On January 15, 2020, as part of the plan to transition the Quality Management System from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized an assessment for certification of its Quality Management System according to ISO 9001:2015.

Attending the program, on behalf of NQA Vietnam Certification Company Limited were Mr. Nguyen Khac Kim (Head of Delegation), Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan (member), and Ms. Bui Thi Khuyen (member); on behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Duc Thuan (Head of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management - representing the consulting unit).

During the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University) shared that the application of quality management according to ISO standards has been implemented since 2012, contributing significantly to improving the quality of the University's activities. Starting in 2019, the University began transitioning its quality management system from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015 and has now basically completed this process. The University has also organized several training courses on improving the quality management system according to ISO 9001:2015 standards. To further affirm the University's commitment to this work, the Vice Rector, on behalf of the University, pledged to cooperate closely with the external evaluation team in the evaluation program.

Representing the external evaluation team, Mr. Nguyen Khac Kim expressed his gratitude to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for choosing NQA Vietnam Certification Company Limited as the evaluation unit. He affirmed that the goal of the evaluation program was to confirm that the University's ISO 9001:2015 quality management system is being continuously maintained and improved. Through this process, the members of NQA Vietnam will identify strengths and weaknesses, thereby helping the units maintain and improve in accordance with the University's quality objectives.

Following the opening ceremony, the delegation and the school's units commenced their work. The expert delegation assigned each expert to work with a specific unit to ensure the content, methodology, and timeframe of the evaluation were met. The evaluation team will review the processes, seeking evidence of compliance and suitability to market requirements. Through this process, they will provide feedback to help the school improve and refine its management processes.

The departments being evaluated include: Training Department, Political and Student Affairs Department, Administration and General Affairs Department, Planning and Finance Department, Personnel Department, Inspection and Legal Affairs Department, Scientific Research Management Department, Cooperation and Development Department, and the Training Quality Assurance Center.

At the end of the working day, the evaluation team concluded that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had sufficient evidence and procedures to achieve ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification. This strength shows that the University's quality management system has had a significant impact on the quality of core activities such as training and scientific research. The evaluation team will complete the next procedures and issue the certification decision.

For her part, Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa, along with representatives from various departments and centers, acknowledged and thanked the evaluation team for their dedicated work and frank contributions. The Vice Rector emphasized that achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification is only the first step in the quality management process. Therefore, departments need to review and further improve the quality of their work to ensure even higher standards.
