
Rector Professor Pham Quang Minh presents the appointment decision to Professor Hoang Anh Tuan.
The lecturer appointed to the title of Professor is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Board of Directors, Professor specializing in Vietnamese History); 04 lecturers appointed to the title of Associate Professor are: Dr. Pham Hong Long (Faculty of Tourism Studies, Associate Professor specializing in Tourism), Dr. Bui Chi Trung (Institute of Journalism and Communication Training, Associate Professor specializing in Journalism), Dr. Nguyen Thi Thai Lan (Faculty of Sociology, Associate Professor specializing in Social Work), Dr. Pham Van Thuy (Faculty of History, Associate Professor specializing in History). With this new round of appointments, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities now has 13 Professors and 93 Associate Professors.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Thai Lan (Faculty of Sociology) receives the appointment decision for Associate Professor.
Rector Pham Quang Minh congratulated the newly appointed professors and associate professors, emphasizing that this is a shared joy and a source of pride for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. In 2019, the selection and appointment of these positions were carried out by the State Council for Professor Titles according to new, higher standards, especially regarding the number of scientific publications in high-impact international journals such as ISI/Scopus. The lecturers appointed in this round are all well-trained at major universities worldwide; they have high-quality international publications that convinced the professor title councils at all levels. This result contributes to improving the quality of the teaching staff and affirms the leading position and prestige of the University in terms of scientific human resources.

Associate Professor Pham Hong Long (Faculty of Tourism Studies) receives appointment decision as Associate Professor.
The Rector assigned the newly appointed Professors and Associate Professors the task of actively and responsibly participating in the process of building the University into an advanced research university; improving the quality of training activities, innovating teaching methods; opening up new research directions and inspiring research, creativity and training for young staff, students and trainees of the University.

Associate Professor Pham Van Thuy (Faculty of History) receives the appointment decision for Associate Professor.
On behalf of the newly appointed Professors/Associate Professors, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Thai Lan shared her honor in receiving the appointment decision, considering it an opportunity for the faculty to demonstrate their abilities, embrace new challenges in their careers and work; to continuously strive to continue the traditions and achievements of the scientists and teachers who came before them; and to contribute to building a university environment rich in academic quality and imbued with humanistic values.

Associate Professor Bui Chi Trung (Institute of Journalism and Communication Training) receives appointment decision as Associate Professor.
Rector Professor Pham Quang Minh also presented Professor Hoang Khac Nam, Head of the Faculty of International Studies, with the Decision recognizing the achievement of educational quality standards and the Certificate of Educational Quality Accreditation for the Bachelor's program in International Studies, issued by the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. The International Studies program was accredited by the external evaluation team according to the Ministry of Education and Training's program quality assessment standards in April 2019, making it the third program of the university to be recognized as meeting the Ministry of Education and Training's standards (after the Vietnamese Studies and Psychology programs).


Also during the briefing session, the University announced the decision to establish a Steering Committee for the prevention and control of acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (nCoV) at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Accordingly, the Head of the Steering Committee is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa - Vice Rector of the University. The Steering Committee is tasked with regularly and promptly monitoring directives from the Central Government, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the city of Hanoi; directing, managing, and coordinating with relevant agencies and units in the prevention and control of acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

Professor Hoang Khac Nam, Head of the Faculty of International Studies, on behalf of the Faculty, received the Decision recognizing the achievement of educational quality standards and the Certificate of Educational Quality Accreditation for the Bachelor's program in International Studies.
