Also chairing the Conference were Permanent Deputy Secretary, Permanent Deputy Director of VNU Nguyen Hoang Hai and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Head of the Organization and Personnel Department, VNU Nguyen Hieu.

At the Conference, Party Secretary Nguyen Kim Son presented the Decision approving comrade Nguyen Van Kim, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of VNU, to hold the position of Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of VNU, term V, 2015-2020.

The conference listened to, discussed and passed resolutions on a number of contents: Report on the results of implementing tasks in the second quarter of 2019 and key tasks in the second quarter of 2019 of the Party Committee of VNU; Key tasks in 2020; Outline of the Political Report of the 6th Congress of the Party Committee of VNU, term 2020 - 2025; the topic of innovation in teaching activities at VNU.

At the Conference, the Executive Committee also discussed and approved the key tasks of VNU for the 2019-2020 academic year. Accordingly, the Party Committee continued to evaluate the implementation results of the Resolution of the 5th VNU Party Congress, in conjunction with the VNU Development Strategy to 2020, with a vision to 2030; the 5-year plan for VNU development (2015-2020); on that basis, propose to develop the political report of the 6th VNU Party Committee, term 2020-2025, in conjunction with developing the VNU Development Strategy to 2025, with a vision to 2035 and the 5-year plan for VNU development (2021-2025); Develop a Decree, Regulations on organization and operation of VNU in accordance with the revised Law on Higher Education. Continue to adjust, organize, update and complete the system of management and operation documents in accordance with the new Decree and Regulations on organization and operation of VNU; Implement the plan to develop information technology infrastructure, as a foundation for building a smart, digital university at VNU; Start construction of a number of construction items under the VNU Construction Investment Project in Hoa Lac; Successfully organize Party Congresses at all levels and the 6th VNU Party Congress, term 2020-2025.

Speaking at the Conference, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of VNU Nguyen Kim Son noted a number of contents that the VNU Party Committee will implement in the coming time, namely: the entire VNU Party Committee will aim for a new term Party Congress in the spirit of innovation, demonstrating the unique features of VNU. VNU continues to implement the training philosophy towards individualization, in which each training unit has its own roadmap to implement this philosophy. In addition, it continues to establish a foundation of information technology, digital data, and prepare modern information technology infrastructure associated with innovation in teaching technology towards international integration.
