The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, participated in the 2019 University and College Admissions Counseling Fair.

At the counseling booth of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, candidates and their parents received direct advice from faculty members who are members of the University's admissions counseling board and from several faculties and institutes. The information provided was diverse, ranging from how to change application preferences to information related to the 28 training programs in social sciences and humanities, career opportunities, training methods, admission scores, etc. With its proven quality of education and advantages such as dual degree programs, credit-based training allowing for early graduation, and opportunities for overseas internships, the programs at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities attracted significant interest from many candidates.

Speaking about the highlights of this year's University and College Admissions Counseling Day, Mr. Nguyen Van Hong (Admissions Officer, Training Department) said: Several prominent training programs at the University have attracted much interest and inquiries from students, such as Journalism, Oriental Studies, Tourism and Travel Service Management, Hotel Management, and Management Science… Mr. Hong advised candidates to refer to the entrance exam scores for each program in previous years, the number of enrollment quotas, and understand the process of changing online application preferences and changing preferences through the application form. He particularly emphasized that if a candidate is most interested in a particular program, they should put it as their first choice, even if there is only a 0.1% chance. This is because all preferences are considered equally. To increase the chances of admission, he also advised students on programs related to their personal interests that are also suitable for their scores.

Visiting the university's counseling booth, Nguyen Kien An (Hanoi) said: "My older brother has been guiding me towards Journalism at the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities since my early high school years. I understand that the university offers diverse journalism programs, so job opportunities will be more abundant. Therefore, I applied for the Journalism program using all three subject combinations: C00, D01, and D78. However, I'm still unsure about what kind of knowledge I'll receive at the university, so I came here to find out more."

Nguyen Thu Hong (Hanoi), who came to seek advice on the Tourism and Travel Service Management major, commented: “The advisors were very enthusiastic. Even though I had researched online, I was still unsure about what I would learn at the school and what job opportunities would be available after graduation. Thanks to the advisors, I feel more confident in my choice.”

"I really like the Faculty of Humanities in Hanoi, so I've applied to it as one of my 11 choices. I definitely want to study at the Faculty of Humanities."—a candidate named Trang shared during the counseling session.

Not only candidates, but many parents also accompanied their children to this University and College Admissions Counseling Day. Mr. Hung – a parent – couldn't hide his concerns:My niece is shy and hasn't yet figured out what she likes. The Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leading university in social sciences and humanities, so I brought her there for counseling about the different majors. Finding a job after graduation shouldn't be difficult; I just hope she can choose a major she enjoys."

Career opportunities after graduation were the second main focus of interest for candidates during the counseling session. Most students wanted to know clearly what kind of jobs they could get after graduating from their field of study.

This year, the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities has added three high-quality training programs in accordance with Circular 23 of the Ministry of Education (High-Quality Training Programs under Circular 23) in Journalism, Management Science, and Information Management. At the Career Fair, the Advisory Board introduced to prospective students the differences between the standard training program and the High-Quality Training Programs under Circular 23. Accordingly, students enrolled in the High-Quality Training Programs under Circular 23 will have an advantage in terms of curriculum, lecturers, and facilities compared to the standard training program. However, students enrolled in the High-Quality Training Programs under Circular 23 will have to pay higher tuition fees to cover the training costs. They will also receive support in internships, practical training, and job placement after graduation.

At the counseling session, prospective students not only had their concerns about admission scores, training programs, tuition fees, and job opportunities after graduation answered, but also received advice on other useful and interesting information such as how to register to increase their chances of admission, scholarship opportunities, extracurricular activities, and the diverse system of student clubs they can join once they enter the university... The positive, dynamic, and enthusiastic spirit of the Faculty and previous generations of Humanities students has been ignited to welcome and guide the next generation of Humanities students starting today.
