During the meeting, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' strategy for expanding international training partnerships. The University has been implementing numerous joint projects with European educational institutions, such as the project to establish a specialization in International Development Studies with University College Cork (Ireland) and the Master of Communication Management program with the University of Stirling (UK). Since 2016, the University has also been a member of the Enhancing Innovation and Research Capacity in Vietnam (ENHANCE) project, funded by the Erasmus Plus program and the European Union (EU).

Mr. Tom Corrie highly appreciated the results of the cooperation between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and its European partners. In the context of Vietnam and the EU having recently signed the EVFTA, the possibilities for cooperation between the EU and universities in Vietnam are further expanded. One of the programs that Mr. Tom Corrie proposed to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is the Jean Monnet Action. This program provides funding for initiatives that promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies, worldwide. The funding areas of the program are diverse and may include establishing short teaching programs on EU studies (Jean Monnet Module), developing lectures with an EU specialization, or establishing a specialized committee on EU studies.

Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan stated that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities currently offers a European Studies specialization within its Bachelor of International Studies program and is moving towards establishing a Master's program in European Studies. Therefore, the need for support in research and teaching of European Studies is essential. The university will carefully study the funding requirements of the Jean Monnet Action Programme before submitting a project proposal to the European Commission in the future.
