During the meeting, Mr. Yamakawa Kaoru presented a plan to organize a three-session tea ceremony course for Japanese Studies students (Faculty of Oriental Studies) at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities at the Urakenke Tea House, FPT Hanoi headquarters. The course is tentatively scheduled for October 1st, 8th, and 15th, 2019. The content will include the tea ceremony and Japanese culture, tea ceremony and Zen meditation, practical application of basic tea ceremony skills, and kimono wearing skills. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a certificate of participation issued by the Urakenke Tea School.

On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Pham Quang Minh highly appreciated the idea and considered it a meaningful activity for educating students of the University in particular and Vietnamese youth in general about Japanese culture. It also reflects the growing friendship and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Japan. Therefore, the University is committed to providing the best conditions to realize the idea and selecting the most outstanding students from the Department of Japanese Studies to participate in this event.

Urasenke is one of the main schools of Japanese tea ceremony with a history of over 400 years. Currently, members of the Urasenke tea ceremony school are present in approximately 100 countries worldwide. In Vietnam, on October 14, 2018, FPT Corporation and the Japan Tea Ceremony Association inaugurated the first Japanese tea house in Vietnam. On March 28, 2019, 31 students from the Faculty of Oriental Studies had the opportunity to participate in a tea ceremony experience at this tea house.
