Attending the meeting were Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University), Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh (Chairperson of the University's Trade Union), Dr. Tran Bach Hieu (Secretary of the University's Youth Union), Prof. People's Teacher Vu Duong Ninh (Chairperson of the University's Association of Retired Teachers), representatives from faculties and departments, and nearly 250 former staff and lecturers of the university.
At the ceremony, before the entire faculty of former teachers, Professor Pham Quang Minh reported on the school's achievements in the past academic year and extended New Year greetings to the teachers.

Professor Pham Quang Minh delivered a speech at the ceremony.
Professor Pham Quang Minh stated: “The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is always proud of its team of former faculty members who have built the tradition for the University. Subsequent generations aspire to cultivate that value, to live up to the University's motto: Respect the past, embrace the future.”
Currently, the University is one of the leading institutions for training in social sciences and humanities, with 111 professors and associate professors, 17 faculties and departments, 24 undergraduate programs, and 69 postgraduate programs. Admission to the University is highly competitive. To build upon its 73-year tradition, the University aims to be among the top 100 universities in Asia.
However, the school still recognizes areas for improvement. The number of publications and research papers remains limited compared to international standards; not many works have been published internationally. Many students lack sufficient foreign language proficiency and soft skills. Therefore, the school must strive harder to live up to its stature as a major training center in the region and the world. Former faculty members are a great source of motivation for both teachers and students to overcome difficulties. With these teachers as a strong support system, the school can achieve anything.”
Associate Professor Nguyen Van Ham summarized the activities of the Association of Retired Teachers over the past year: “The Association successfully held its General Assembly in October, electing a new Executive Committee for the next term. In addition, at the National University-level General Assembly of Retired Teachers, the School's Association of Retired Teachers and its President - Professor Vu Duong Ninh, received a commendation from the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.”

Associate Professor Nguyen Van Ham delivered a speech at the ceremony.
On behalf of the Association of Retired Faculty, Professor Vu Duong Ninh expressed his gratitude for the attention of the University's leadership. He also wished the former lecturers and staff of the University good health and longevity, and wished the University of Social Sciences and Humanities continued development in the new year.

Dr. Tran Bach Hieu presents a bouquet of flowers to Professor Vu Duong Ninh, People's Teacher.
Representing the youth of the University, Dr. Tran Bach Hieu shared: “On the occasion of the upcoming Tet and Spring Festival of the Year of the Dog, I would like to send my best wishes to the teachers, those who have made history at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. I wish you all a prosperous, long, and happy new year.”
