Attending the meeting were representatives from the Center for Educational Quality Assurance, the Faculty of Information and Library Science, the Faculty of Sociology, the Faculty of Psychology, and the Faculty of International Studies.
At the meeting, Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa emphasized the importance of quality assurance in training as a solution to improve training quality. As a leading unit within the Vietnam National University, Hanoi in this area, the University has so far implemented AUN-standard evaluations for its Oriental Studies, Linguistics, Literature, and Philosophy programs with positive results. Many other programs have also undergone peer evaluations, such as Journalism, Anthropology, and Political Science. The evaluation results, along with suggestions from accreditation experts, have helped the University reassess its strengths and weaknesses, enabling it to make adjustments according to a reasonable roadmap.

Because the accreditation process requires quite elaborate preparation and dedication from the units, Vice Rector Tran Thi Minh Hoa suggested that the units need to work together, understand, and support the school's policy. If there are difficulties, the units should also proactively share them so that the school, specifically the Center for Educational Quality Assurance, can plan to provide support.
This year, four training programs are expected to be accredited. The Sociology and Psychology programs will be accredited according to AUN standards in November 2018; the International Studies program will be accredited according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training; and the Information Science program will undergo peer review based on AUN standards.

In March 2018, the University plans to organize training for the relevant units on preparing self-assessment reports and working with survey teams. By April 2018, the units will begin writing their reports and gathering evidence. The Center for Educational Quality Assurance will advise and develop a specific plan for these activities for the University and will notify the units to coordinate their implementation.
Representatives from the faculties also requested that the University provide information on the accreditation results of previous training programs, summarize the problems that units often encounter during the process of preparing self-assessment reports in order to learn from experience, and provide specific and timely guidance to the units…
