To enhance students' understanding of the rights of people with disabilities at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, on the evening of January 22nd, the Hoa Da Club, under the University's Student Union, collaborated with relevant units to organize the "Lens of Love" program.

The program was attended by: Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University), Dr. Tran Bach Hieu (Secretary of the University's Youth Union), Ms. Molly Stephenson (Cultural and Information Counselor, US Embassy, representative of the sponsor), Ms. Huy Hanh (Cultural Assistant of the US Embassy), Ms. Do Thanh Huyen (UNDP policy and program analyst), Ms. Phan Thi Bich Diep (Vice President of the Hanoi Association of People with Disabilities), Mr. Nguyen Hong Ha (Vice President of the Hanoi Association of People with Disabilities, Head of the Youth Committee of the Hanoi Association of People with Disabilities); Ms. Nguyen Minh Chau and Ms. Dinh Thi Lan Huong (Coordinators of the Project "Lens on the Rights of People with Disabilities"), Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung (President of the "Happiness is Sharing" Association, representative of the sponsor).

Professor Pham Quang Minh, the Rector of the university, delivered a speech at the program. He particularly praised the Hoa Da Club for consistently organizing practical and meaningful programs for students at the university.

In addition, the program was attended by members of the film crew of "A Lens on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities"; members and volunteers from previous years of the Hoa Da Club; representatives of volunteer clubs and teams inside and outside the university, and a large number of students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

"Lens of Love" is a film screening and discussion program on the rights of people with disabilities, aiming to help young people better understand those considered special in society, and to have a more accurate perspective on them. It is also an opportunity for students to express their views and initiatives in promoting the rights of people with disabilities. The program is organized to create a creative platform for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to develop their knowledge, abilities, and passion in promoting and protecting the rights of people with disabilities and vulnerable groups. At the same time, students will have the opportunity to explore the filmmaking abilities of people with disabilities and their own perspectives on life.

The students of the Hoa Da Club presented gifts to the Principal.

Speaking at the program, Professor Pham Quang Minh expressed the university's concern for activities promoting equality in society. People with disabilities deserve to be treated as normal people because they are still capable of working and contributing to society. Through meaningful activities like this, students at the university will have a more equal view of those considered disadvantaged in society. "The volunteer students of the Faculty of Humanities have carried out truly meaningful programs, contributing to society, and that makes me truly proud," said the Rector.

Within the framework of the program, "Lens of Love" features prominent activities such as: a quiz about people with disabilities through essays, screenings of films produced by people with disabilities, a seminar on filmmaking by people with disabilities, and a presentation competition on the topic "Initiatives by Humanities students to promote the rights of people with disabilities". Twenty students from the "Lens on the Rights of People with Disabilities" project directly participated in sharing their experiences at the program.

The Principal presented certificates of merit to the underprivileged students of the Hoa Da Club.

The students screened two films, "The Fool" and "The Farmer." Both were conceived and produced by the students themselves. "The Farmer," in particular, moved many viewers to tears with its portrayal of a disabled farmer in Bac Tu Liem district who strives to build a happy family life with his wife and three children.

During the making of this film, the production team faced many difficulties as all members were disabled, yet they still had to operate the cameras themselves and closely follow the characters to capture their stories. There were times when they had to wake up at 3 AM in 10-12°C weather just to get a realistic shot. Furthermore, the team members only received five filmmaking training sessions, and they handled all production stages themselves under the guidance of their teachers. However, overcoming all obstacles, they still managed to create films with meaningful messages. "Lens of Love" is an opportunity for them to bring these films to students, with the support of the Hoa Da Club of the Student Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The talk show took place within the framework of the "Lens of Love" program. The guests were members of the "Lens on the Rights of People with Disabilities" project, who shared about the difficulties and motivations they faced while making the films.
