The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Senshu University established a formal cooperation relationship in 1999. To date, 35 students and trainees from the University have studied at Senshu University, some of whom have become researchers, lecturers, and administrators both within and outside the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Senshu University primarily offers programs in Humanities, Commerce, and Law.
Sharing his thoughts with the two professors from Senshu University, Rector Pham Quang Minh stated that the cooperative relationship between the two universities has a long tradition, is close and cordial, and is particularly effective. He expressed hope that this tradition will be continued in the future and open up further avenues for development.

This year, Japanese Studies has become an independent program at the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities, with up to 60 students enrolled annually. This also presents an opportunity for the two universities to further enhance faculty exchange and collaborative research and training. The university hopes that professors from Senshu University will serve as scientific mentors for its staff, students, and trainees. Conversely, if Senshu University wishes to conduct research on Vietnam or Southeast Asia, the university can send experts to support and jointly carry out projects. The two universities could also consider implementing a 1+3 or 2+2 program model, allowing students to acquire knowledge in both Vietnam and Japan.
The Rector also emphasized the desire for long-term and sustainable cooperation between the two universities. The two universities share common interests in the social sciences and humanities, and possess a spirit of openness, dynamism, and strong integration. These are good foundations for future cooperation.
In response, Professor Hiroshi Kaneko (Vice President of Senshu University) expressed his pleasure with the results of the cooperation between the two sides, especially the results in training human resources for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He also agreed that the two universities could expand into new areas of cooperation. Senshu University will soon open a new Faculty of International Communication and Commerce.

Professor Katsumi Shimane (Head of the Faculty of Humanities, Senshu University) shared that Vietnam and Japan are currently in a very strong phase of cooperation. While in the past, Vietnamese people were more interested in Japan's development, viewing Japan as an object of study and research, the trend is now reversed. Japanese people are increasingly interested in Vietnam and other countries in the Asian region. These are favorable conditions for cooperation between the two sides.
