The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU and Senshu University have established an official cooperative relationship since 1999. Up to now, 35 students and trainees of the University have studied at Senshu University, some of whom have become researchers, lecturers, and managers inside and outside the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Senshu University mainly trains in Humanities, Commerce, and Law.
Sharing with two professors from Senshu University, Principal Professor Pham Quang Minh said: the cooperative relationship between the two universities has a tradition, is close, friendly and especially brings high efficiency. Hopefully in the future, this tradition will be extended and open up other directions of development.
This year, Japanese Studies has become an independent major at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi, with up to 60 students trained each year. This is also an opportunity for the two schools to further promote teacher exchanges as well as research and training cooperation. The school hopes that professors from Senshu University will become scientific instructors for staff, students and trainees of the school. On the other hand, if Senshu University wants to conduct research on Vietnam or Southeast Asia, the school can send experts to support and carry out joint projects. The two schools can also consider implementing training programs in the direction of 1+3, 2+2 so that students can acquire knowledge in both Vietnam and Japan.
The Rector also emphasized the desire for long-term and sustainable cooperation between the two universities. The two universities have common interests in the field of social sciences and humanities, and a spirit of openness, dynamism and strong integration. These are good foundations for future cooperation.
In response, Prof. Hiroshi Kaneko (Vice President of Senshu University) expressed his joy with the results of cooperation between the two sides, especially the results in human resource training for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He also agreed that the two schools could expand new directions of cooperation. In the near future, Senshu University will open a new Faculty of International Communication and Commerce.
Prof. Katsumi Shimane (Head of the Faculty of Humanities, Senshu University) shared that: Vietnam and Japan are in a very strong stage of cooperation development. If in the past, Vietnamese people were more interested in the development of Japan, considering Japan as a subject of research and study, now the opposite trend is happening. Japanese people are increasingly interested in Vietnam as well as other countries in the Asian region. These are favorable conditions for cooperation between the two sides.
