
Mr. Thach Thuy Ky (Chief Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam) believes that the network exchange program is a meaningful event that fosters connection and mutual learning between young people from Vietnam and Taiwan.
The program is organized by the Vietnam-Taiwan Research Institute (National Tung Hwa University, Taiwan) and the Center for Gender, Population, Environment and Social Issues Research (Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi).

Associate Professor Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) expressed her joy when the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, HanoiTogether with National Donghua University, we organized the first event on environmental education between the two countries and hope for future cooperation between the two universities.
The program will take place over five days, from August 19-23, 2019, at universities in Hanoi, the Center for Resource and Environmental Communication, and Xuan Thuy National Park. The program aims to build a Taiwan-Vietnam environmental education network, promote opportunities for cooperation in sustainable development education; provide a forum for sharing best practices and helping initiatives shine; and practice a model of environmental education exchange.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, representatives from the organizing and supporting units welcomed and highly appreciated the significance of the Environmental Education Network Exchange Program. Currently, both Vietnam and Taiwan are facing serious problems with the environment, including land, water, and air, affecting the quality of life and living conditions of the people. The experiences and knowledge shared by the students will contribute to creating solutions to improve the environment in each country. At the same time, this event also promotes dynamic exchange and interaction between students and young people from Vietnam and Taiwan in particular, as well as bilateral relations between the two countries in general.

During the exchange session, outstanding students from three Taiwanese universities and three Vietnamese universities, along with members of non-governmental organizations from both countries, discussed environmental education issues in their respective countries, fostering creativity to propose solutions for improving environmental education and environmental protection in general. The young people discussed key topics including: climate change, circular economy, nature conservation, cultural diversity, and community participation in environmental protection.
