Next, the Institute of Oriental Languages, Sichuan Foreign Languages ​​University (China)

During the meeting, Professor La Van Thanh introduced the Oriental Language Academy of Sichuan Foreign Languages ​​University and reviewed some of the results of cooperation between the two sides. The Academy was established in 2006 and has approximately 700 students. Students majoring in Vietnamese language, upon reaching their third year, can be sent to universities in Vietnam to study Vietnamese, including the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. According to the memorandum of understanding signed by both sides in 2011, over eight academic years, the Sichuan side has sent approximately 130 undergraduate students to the University.

According to Professor La Van Thanh, the majority of students at the Academy have given positive feedback regarding the learning environment, living conditions, and the qualifications of the lecturers. Therefore, the Academy hopes to continue its cooperation program with Vietnam, especially by expanding the scope of students to higher levels such as master's and doctoral programs. Professor Thanh also proposed that both sides extend the cooperation agreement, which is set to expire in July 2020.

On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa highly appreciated and expressed her desire to further develop the results of cooperation between the two sides. With two reputable Vietnamese language training units, namely the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language and the Faculty of Linguistics, the University is ready to welcome and provide the best conditions for students of the Academy of Oriental Languages.

Sichuan Foreign Languages ​​University was founded in 1950 and is located in Chongqing, China. It has approximately 15,000 students. The university's organizational structure includes 23 departments and affiliated institutes, 2 independent institutes, 2 affiliated secondary schools, and an international school. Offering instruction in 11 foreign languages, including Vietnamese, the university is one of the top eight foreign language universities in China.
