The Rector wished the Institute of Journalism and Communication to continue to have new achievements in the field of research and training of high-quality human resources in journalism and communication for the country.
The Institute of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, formerly the Faculty of Journalism, Hanoi National University, established in 1990, has always been one of the two largest centers for training journalists in the country. The Institute is the only unit that trains in two majors: Journalism and Public Relations, from Bachelor to Doctorate and has an international joint Master's program, awarded with a degree from Sirting University (UK). The Institute trains students in the direction of working in many types of journalism but with a specialized orientation in the final year.
After nearly 30 years of training, the Institute has thousands of students and graduates who are currently working in all types of journalism nationwide. Many alumni hold important positions as leaders of press agencies, media and press management, such as Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Deputy General Director of Vietnam News Agency, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Editor-in-Chief of Vietnamnet e-newspaper, Mr. Ngo Viet Anh - Editor-in-Chief of Zing.vn e-newspaper, Mr. Que Dinh Nguyen - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan newspaper, Ms. Vu Thi Anh Hong - Editor-in-Chief of Hai Quan newspaper, Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen - Deputy Director General of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training in charge of press and foreign affairs... Currently, the Institute is aiming to recruit and train according to the needs and quality requirements of domestic press units, and eventually foreign press and media organizations.
The Rector also presented flowers to congratulate the Communications Department - Development Cooperation Department and suggested that communications activities should continue to be promoted in the direction of professionalism, combining communications to external audiences and internal communications. Communications activities not only play a role in spreading information and the image of the University to society but also help build a smooth information network, connecting members, and are a tool to actively support management and administration activities in the university.
