Gratitude activities to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day July 27

On July 25, 2019, the Executive Committee of the Veterans Association in collaboration with the Executive Committee of the Trade Union and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, organized an intimate meeting to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2019). This is an opportunity for the University to express gratitude for the contributions of teachers who are war invalids and martyrs' relatives.

Gratitude activities to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day July 27

Attending the meeting were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Party Committee Secretary, Vice Principal of the School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Hai - Chairman of the Veterans Association, Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - Chairman of the School's Trade Union, members of the Executive Committee of the Veterans Association, the Standing Committee of the School's Trade Union, students and especially the presence of 05 cadres and civil servants who are war invalids, sick soldiers and relatives of martyrs.

On behalf of the school's leadership, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim presented gifts and expressed his deep gratitude to the teachers who were wounded soldiers, relatives of martyrs who contributed to protecting the country during the war, and actively participated and completed well the tasks on the educational front, making an important contribution to the training work as well as the "career of cultivating people" of the school. The professor also placed his trust in the team of teachers who will continue to promote the good traditions of the school, take the lead in all work, and be an example for staff and students to follow.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim also hopes that in the future, the school's leaders as well as the staff and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will have many opportunities and meaningful activities to pay more attention to the families of war invalids, martyrs and veterans in the school.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Ngoc Thanh, on behalf of the cadres, civil servants who are war invalids, sick soldiers, and relatives of martyrs, expressed his gratitude to the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, mass organizations, and all cadres and students of the School for always caring for the cadres, civil servants who are war invalids, sick soldiers, and relatives of martyrs.

Also at the meeting, the students were shared by the teachers with their deep memories and memories of the battlefield, their own emotions during the heroic historical years of the country. The students expressed their hope that the generations of students in the School will have more opportunities to interact with the teachers - living witnesses of history to learn more about the history as well as the contributions of previous generations, thereby having the right direction in life.

Continuing the series of gratitude activities, on the morning of July 24, the delegation of the School's Trade Union led by Ms. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - President of the School's Trade Union visited and presented gifts to war invalids and sick soldiers at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation of People with Meritorious Services in Thai Binh Province. Joining the delegation were Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Van Hai - President of the School's Veterans Association and union officials.

Thai Binh Province Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for Meritorious People is a concentrated nursing and treatment facility for severely wounded soldiers in Thai Binh, currently caring for 23 severely wounded comrades.

On behalf of the delegation, comrade Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh gave a speech and presented 10 million in cash and 23 gifts to the wounded and sick soldiers, expressing the gratitude, encouragement and sharing of the school's staff to the wounded and sick soldiers - the previous generations who sacrificed a part of their blood and bones so that the country can have a peaceful life today.

In response to the concern and visit of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, comrade Hoang Van Vinh - Deputy Director of the Center for Nursing and Caring for Meritorious People of Thai Binh province shared: the work that the staff at the Center are doing cannot be compared to the losses and sacrifices that the wounded and sick soldiers have had to endure. The Center will try harder to create the best care conditions for the comrades being cared for here. On behalf of the wounded and sick soldiers and the Center's staff, comrade Hoang Van Vinh expressed his deep gratitude to the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the Executive Board of the School's Trade Union and all the staff and students of the School.
