The first destination for the delegation was Tan Vu Bridge (Lach Huyen, Hai Phong) - the longest sea bridge in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, inaugurated in early September 2017. The Tan Vu - Lach Huyen highway project in Hai Phong City is one of the two main components of the Lach Huyen port infrastructure construction project, which is an international gateway port and will be the first international transshipment port in the North of Vietnam in the future. The project has a total length of 15.63 km, starting at the Tan Vu intersection with the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway; and ending at the Lach Huyen port gate. The sea bridge section alone is 5.443 km long, constructed using SBS technology and balanced cantilever casting. The Dinh Vu - Cat Hai sea bridge has a total length of 5.44 km and a construction time of 36 months.

Visit the Mạc Dynasty Memorial Area
After visiting Tan Vu Bridge, the group moved to Kien Thuy and visited the Mac Dynasty Memorial Area – home to a 500-year-old ceremonial sword. The Mac Dynasty Memorial Area is one of the historically significant projects in Hai Phong city, included in the list of projects commemorating the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi. Construction began in October 2009 and was completed in December 2010 on a 10.5-hectare site with a modern and integrated infrastructure comprising 30 structures such as: a traditional house, ceremonial gate, celestial dragon well, worship hall, main hall, and ancestral temple…

After leaving the Mạc Dynasty Memorial, in the afternoon, the group continued to visit the temple of Trạng Trình Nguyễn Bỉnh Khiêm. Trạng Trình Nguyễn Bỉnh Khiêm (1491-1585), from Trung Am village, Lý Học commune, Vĩnh Bảo district, Hải Phòng city, was a great cultural figure, educator, philosopher, and poet of the nation, living in the 16th century. He passed the imperial examination in 1535 and served as a high-ranking official, reaching the position of Tả thị lang. He made many contributions to the country's education system. The Nguyễn Bỉnh Khiêm Temple complex was classified as a national historical and cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 1991. The Trạng Trình Temple complex includes the following main architectural units: the Nguyễn Bỉnh Khiêm temple; the temple of his parents; Bạch Vân hermitage; Trung Tân pavilion; Bút Kình Thiên tower; the tomb of Nguyễn Văn Định (Nguyễn Bỉnh Khiêm's father); a square; and a monument.

The day trip, filled with many interesting destinations, left a lasting impression on each member. The retired teachers had the opportunity to learn more about the country's cultural and historical landmarks, while also reminiscing and reconnecting with colleagues after the stresses of life. Perhaps this is why the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, and the School's Trade Union Executive Committee consistently support the annual field trip for the School's Retired Teachers' Association members.
