Dr. Pham Hong Long (Head of the Faculty of Tourism Studies) briefly introduced the history of the Faculty's development, along with the training programs and achievements that the Faculty has achieved in recent times, such as: The Faculty has made efforts to innovate training programs to update with the region, increase practical and internship activities for students, improve the capacity of the academic advisor team, increase opportunities for direct dialogue with learners... However, Dr. Pham Hong Long also mentioned the shortcomings such as: students have not found jobs in their majors after graduation, the number of lecturers who can use foreign languages to teach is still modest...
Dr. Pham Hong Long reports on the training program model that the Faculty of Tourism Studies is applying.
After listening to the reports of Dr. Pham Hong Long, Dr. Hoang Thi Xuan Hoa (Head of the VNU survey team) shared about the goal of the VNU Peer Quality Assessment Team, which is to survey the training program of Tourism and Travel Services Management according to AUN criteria, giving comments and suggestions for the School and Faculty to improve the remaining limitations, thereby improving the training quality towards integration with the region and the world.
Dr. Hoang Thi Xuan Hoa sent her thanks to the School leaders and the Faculty of Tourism Studies.
Also in the opening session, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Principal of the school) emphasized: The school as well as the Faculty of Tourism Studies clearly understand the importance of peer training quality assessment activities according to AUN-QA standards. The school expects that the results of the expert team's work will help adjust the training program and training activities according to international standards, thereby improving the training quality and position of the school in the region.
During the working sessions, the expert delegation directly interviewed representatives of the school's leadership, faculty leaders, training staff, students and alumni of the faculty to give the most authentic assessments.
