The Media Collection of the National Geographical Survey of Vietnam is a systematic, objective, and vivid research work that comprehensively and truthfully describes, according to the principles of the geographical survey genre, the appearance and life of Vietnamese media during the first two decades of the 21st century.
While private or group communication only impacts an individual or a small group of people, mass communication is a unique form of communication in human history – one in which communicators can convey messages to a large and geographically widespread audience – something that previous forms of communication could never achieve. Information and communication technology is currently the driving force of the world's economy, culture, and politics, revolutionizing the way we interact, exchange information, behave in society, and conduct economic, commercial, cultural, and political activities globally.

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training, delivered a speech.
Therefore, adhering to the most fundamental characteristics of the geographical genre (such as continuity, comprehensiveness, documentary nature, scientific rigor, mass appeal, and practicality), the national geographical volume on media will recreate the current state of Vietnamese media (including media outlets, information technology, postal services, telecommunications, etc.) in a way that encompasses both content technology and production technology associated with the development of Vietnamese society; the viewpoints, policies, organizations, activities, achievements, figures, issues, etc., related to the management, development, and exploitation of media in Vietnam, paying attention to both mass media and everyday media.

The delegates took a commemorative photo.
Experts discussed and contributed many important ideas on the approach and methods of content compilation, methods of collecting and processing materials, principles of presenting the content of the Sections of the Communication Volume, and also reviewed the list introduced in the explanatory section of the Communication Volume, adding or removing items within the scope permitted by the circulars on scientific tasks.
