At the workshop, scientists discussed the role of salt in human health; the contributions of the salt industry to economic development and lessons from foreign countries in salt production and trading. In addition, the sharing of leaders of departments and tourism businesses also brought new perspectives on health tourism based on organic salt products of Thai Binh province.
At the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa presented a paper on “Health tourism development - International experience and lessons for Vietnam”. The paper analyzed health tourism models in the world, thereby providing lessons and suggestions for Vietnam in the process of orienting the development of health tourism, especially pointing out the necessary and sufficient conditions for developing this type of tourism in Thai Binh.
In the framework of the discussion session of the Workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa was also invited to speak, share and contribute ideas on the development of eco-tourism and resorts based on organic salt products of Thai Binh province. Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa pointed out the points that Thai Binh province needs to pay attention to: Infrastructure facilities serving tourism, especially serving health tourism; Building typical products for health tourism with the core product being visiting and experiencing the salt farming process; Focusing on training high-quality tourism human resources; Promoting and advertising to position the image of the destination; Building links with travel businesses to promote the implementation of health tourism products and services; Building and promulgating a legal corridor for businesses to invest in this type of product.
Also at the Workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa signed an official cooperation agreement between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Binh province, thereby establishing a cooperative relationship between the University and Thai Binh province on: research linkage, training of tourism human resources for the province's tourism staff; internships and practice in tourism; organizing seminars and research talks on related fields. This activity not only helps to enhance the reputation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU in the field of tourism training nationwide but also gives Thai Binh province the opportunity to train tourism staff in a systematic, methodical and high-quality manner.
