Youth Month 2009 Activity Plan

I. Purpose and meaning

- Responding to Youth Month launched by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association.

- Practically compete to achieve results to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2009).

- Strengthen the organization and direction of the Youth Union and Association bases to continue building an environment for political and ideological education, ethics and lifestyle for union members, association members and students; promote the role of the Youth Union and Association organizations in supporting union members, association members and students in all aspects; continue to promote the work of building and organizing strong union branches and association branches, improving the quality of union members, association members, and developing the Party among students; continue to innovate the content and methods of organizing activities in accordance with the credit-based training model.

II. Activity content and implementation

1. Activities to educate about traditions, orient lifestyle and develop the Party among union members, association members and students

- Units proactively, based on their practical conditions, organize sightseeing, exchange, study exchange activities, ... with the aim of educating the revolutionary traditions of the nation, the traditions of the School, traditional cultural values, ... to union members and students of their units.

- The Youth Union Information Office - Student Association of the School, the Student Volunteer Group of the Traditional Office of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has a specific plan, organizing at least 01 activity to propagate and educate traditions for union members and members of the whole school.

- The Editorial Board of the Voluntary Magazine completed and launched the special issue of the Magazine to celebrate Youth Month No. 15; The Executive Board of the School Youth Union organized 01 educational tour to educate the traditions of key Youth Union and Association officials.

- The Youth Union - Student Association branches, affiliated youth union - association branches report to the unit's Party Committee, guide the meeting to consider and introduce proposals for Party admission for outstanding union members.

2. Branch and association activities; school-level discussions, content: Responsibilities of union members, members and Union - Association organizations with the task of building a disciplined and civilized school environment.

- Youth Union branches and associations organize regular activities during the youth month according to the direction of the Youth Union - Student Association of the School: Responsibilities of union members, association members and the Youth Union - Student Association with the goal of building a DISCIPLINED - CIVILIZED school environment.

- The Executive Committee of the Union of Youth Unions - Union of Associations, affiliated branches - associations are responsible for implementing and directing the implementation, participating, checking and summarizing the content and results of the activities of the branches - associations according to the above content and submitting reports to the Youth Union - Student Association of the School.

- Each unit selects 01 model youth union - association, reports the time and location for other youth union - association in the unit to attend the study and for the Executive Committee of the Youth Union - Student Association of the School to attend the inspection and direction.

- The activities of the Youth Union and Association must be organized and completed within the first 2 weeks of Youth Month (before March 15, 2009).

- The Youth Union - Student Association of the School organized a discussion on the role of the Youth Union - Association with the above content.

3. Consulting and support activities for union members, members and students

- The Executive Committee of the Union of Youth Unions - Union of Associations, affiliated branches - branches proactively develop plans for the unit with the aim of supporting union members, members, and students in their studies and in life, especially emphasizing the role of the staff union branches to support students in scientific research skills towards the Student Scientific Research Conference of Faculties/Departments and School level.

- The Student Social Work Team supported the Stone Flower Group to complete the documents, propose the decision to establish and organize the launching ceremony of the Club of disabled students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The School Youth Union Professional Board organized 01 Training class on scientific research support skills for union members, members and students.

The School Student Association organized 01 Career Skills Consulting Class for final year members.

- The Youth Union - Student Association of the School in collaboration with the Training Department organized the contest "Students with credit-based training model".

4. Cultural and volunteer activities to join the community

- Units proactively plan and organize cultural and sports activities to create a joyful and youthful atmosphere as well as opportunities for exchange and learning for union members inside and outside the unit.

Encourage units to organize exchange activities between Union branches and Association branches.

- The student group organizing the event "SEG" organized a school-level cooking competition to respond to Youth Month and celebrate International Women's Day on March 8 (with specific plans).

- The Youth Union - Student Association of the School in coordination with the Youth Union - Student Association of the University of Foreign Languages, University of Natural Sciences organized a Camp to welcome March 26 and the Cultural Exchange Program "March Meeting" (with specific plan).

- The Youth Union - Student Association of the School set up a preparatory plan and developed the 2009 Summer Volunteer Plan for the units to start implementing. The Student Association of the School implemented the Plan for the Aerobic Competition for Students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

5. Participate in activities launched by the superior Union

In addition to unit and school level activities, based on the implementation plan of the higher-level Youth Union and Association, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union and Student Association of the School will notify and mobilize union members and students of the units to participate.

III. Indicators

- 100% of youth union branches and associations organize activities effectively according to the orientation of the Youth Union - Student Association of the School.

- Each Union - Student Association organizes at least 01 activity to advise and support scientific research skills for union members, members and students.

- Each youth union branch reports to the leadership and holds a meeting to introduce at least 1 outstanding youth union member for the unit's Party Committee to consider admitting to the Party.

IV. Summary and disciplinary rewards

- Require the Union branches - Associations, affiliated branches - associations to base on the action plan of the School Union, report to the Party Committee, develop their own plans, organize implementation and summarize the report immediately after the end of the Youth Month.

- Each unit meets to consider and propose rewards for 01 collective and 02 individuals with outstanding achievements during the youth month.

- The summary report and reward proposal must be confirmed by the unit's Party Committee and submitted to the School Youth Union Office before April 5, 2009.
