Official document No. 408/XHNV-TN dated October 17, 2008, from the Executive Committee of the Youth Union - Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities regarding...Plan for organizing the 7th Student Singing Contest of the University.
The Student Singing Contest is a traditional activity that meets the cultural and artistic needs of the university's students. Over the years, the contest has consistently attracted a large number of students. This activity has significant educational value in terms of politics, ideology, and ethics, and is a healthy cultural and artistic activity for students in general and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in particular.
Notably, this year's competition is being held on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20th. This is a spiritual gift from the students to the faculty and staff of the university, who have worked tirelessly to nurture the future generations of the country.
The songs praise the glorious Party, the great President Ho Chi Minh, love for the homeland and the Vietnamese people; the teacher-student relationship, students; universities; soldiers; and workers.

Students from all training programs currently studying at the school are eligible to participate. Each student union branch is a participating unit.
1.2. For affiliated student union branches
In addition to students from various training programs currently studying at the university, members of the affiliated youth union branches (the Youth Union Branch of the Rectorate, the Youth Union Branch of the Foreign Language Department, and the Youth Union Branch of the Political Science Department) may also be invited to participate.
2. Examination time
Each participating unit has 20 minutes to present their entry, not including preparation time.
In the competition entries, if a program exceeds one minute, 0.5 points will be deducted from the overall average score of all entries.

3. Score
Each participating unit is scored based on individual performances in their competition entry. The scoring scale for each performance is 10 points. The overall average score is calculated by dividing the total score of all individual performances by the total number of performances in each team's entry. This score takes into account performance style, costumes, choreography, and the overall quality of the program. All decisions regarding scores are made and the responsibility of the judging panel.
4. Form and genre
The programs submitted by participating units can be presented in various forms: choir, group singing, trio, duet, solo, etc.
The organizers encourage entries that are themed, choral, involve a large number of participants, include illustrations, and feature original songs, etc.
The genres of songs can vary, such as pre-war music, revolutionary songs, pop music, folk songs, etc., depending on the choice of each unit to best suit and showcase their performance abilities.
In addition to the orchestra provided by the Organizing Committee, participating units may have their own orchestra or use pre-recorded music; however, this music must absolutely not contain vocals or backing vocals.
The organizing committee will review the list of songs submitted by participating units based on the regulations regarding content, style, and performance costumes issued by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Upon receiving this plan, units are requested to widely disseminate it among all students, encourage union members to participate, form competition teams, and organize training sessions to participate fully and with high quality.
The list of performances and student union members participating in the program should be sent to the Organizing Committee (through the Youth Union - Student Association Office of the University) before November 5th, 2008 (Wednesday), with confirmation from the unit's Party Committee.
The organizing committee will conduct a draw to determine the order of musical arrangements and performances on November 10, 2008, in Room 506, Building E.
