Opening ceremony of Master of Journalism class QH-2018-X in Vinh Long

On November 22, in Vinh Long, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Cuu Long University held the opening ceremony of the Master of Journalism class for 50 students who are members, journalists, and press officers working in the Mekong Delta region.

Attending the opening ceremony were journalist Nguyen Be (Vice President of Vietnam Journalists Association); Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Loi (Member of the Executive Committee of Vietnam Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lam Bao Magazine); journalist Doan Minh Long (Member of the Executive Committee of Vietnam Journalists Association, President of Khanh Hoa Provincial Journalists Association); Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities); Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cuong (President of Cuu Long University).

In his opening speech, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) said: The school has a tradition of more than 70 years of establishment and development, in which the Institute of Journalism and Communication is one of the most dynamic units, with a tradition and reputation for training journalism and communication in the country. Cuu Long University is one of the school's close partners in recent years in the Mekong Delta region. This is the first Journalism Master's class that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has coordinated to organize in Vinh Long.

At the opening ceremony, journalist Nguyen Be (Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association) said: In the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution that has been affecting all aspects of social life, especially the field of journalism and media, in order to improve the quality of the team of journalists and increase the number of press managers for the Mekong Delta region in the coming time, the Vietnam Journalists Association has proactively contacted the leaders of the provinces in the region, directly discussed with the Journalists Association at all levels and worked many times with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) to organize today's journalism graduate class.

Journalist Nguyen Be hopes that the 46 students will be an abundant source of journalism human resources who can participate in higher education training programs in the future, creating motivation to help journalism in the region, once considered a "cultural lowland", have the opportunity to develop sustainably.

On this occasion, journalist Nguyen Be requested that leaders of press management and direction agencies, leaders of press agencies and all levels of the Journalists Association in the Mekong Delta region have the responsibility to effectively use this human resource, creating the most favorable conditions for students to fully participate in learning and achieve the highest efficiency.
