Opening of Master of Journalism Class in Ca Mau

On November 24, in Ca Mau City, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and the Branch of Binh Duong University in Ca Mau held the Opening Ceremony of the Master of Journalism class for students who are members, journalists, and press officers in Ca Mau and neighboring provinces.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Than Duc Huong (Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee), journalist Nguyen Be (Vice Chairman of Vietnam Journalists Association), Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Loi (Member of the Executive Committee of Vietnam Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lam Bao Magazine), journalist Doan Minh Long (Member of the Executive Committee of Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Journalists Association), Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities)... The 54 students of the class are reporters and journalists from press agencies in the Mekong Delta region.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Principal of the School)

In his opening speech, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) said: The University, as the leading cradle of training in social sciences and humanities in the country, is very pleased to participate in training to improve the quality of human resources in journalism and communication in the Mekong Delta region. Binh Duong University, Ca Mau branch, is one of the close partners of the University in recent years in this region. This is the second Journalism Master's class that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has coordinated to organize, after the first class in Vinh Long.

At the opening ceremony, journalist Nguyen Be (Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association) said: this event took place in the historic days of November, joining the exciting atmosphere of the 78th anniversary of the Southern Uprising and the success of the 2018 Mekong Delta Journalism Awards Ceremony organized by the Journalists Magazine (Vietnam Journalists Association). This is a very happy occasion for the Mekong Delta press and especially for reporters in Ca Mau province when there is a Master of Journalism class organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities here.

  • In the 2019-2020 school year, the Institute of Journalism and Communication (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) plans to organize a Master's degree in Applied Journalism in Hanoi, Lao Cai, Da Nang, Binh Duong, and Vinh Long.
