At the conference summarizing the work on postgraduate admissions and training inspection in 2018, held this morning (November 27, 2018), speakers supported the direction of standardizing all stages of postgraduate training, increasing transparency of information, and strengthening coordination and inter-level mechanisms in management activities.

The conference heard thematic reports such as: the results of the inspection of postgraduate training activities at various units presented by Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy (Head of the Inspection and Legal Affairs Department); recommendations and proposals from units on postgraduate training presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Nam (Head of the Training Department); and a summary of postgraduate enrollment presented by Mr. Hoang Van Quynh (Deputy Head of the Training Department).

Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan chaired the conference.

The conference acknowledged the positive results in the university's postgraduate admissions in 2018. Through two rounds of entrance exams, 413 postgraduate students and 50 doctoral candidates were admitted to the university's various training programs. In the context of the overall difficulties in postgraduate admissions in recent years, the university's achievements in postgraduate admissions and training have made a practical contribution to the development of postgraduate training activities at Hanoi National University. In particular, many training units have demonstrated dynamism in reaching out to students and expanding the scope of admissions for applied master's programs to provinces and cities nationwide, notably the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training's organization of training high-quality human resources for the Southwest region...

Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University) addressed the immediate and long-term challenges facing this area of ​​activity in the context of the increasing saturation of postgraduate education demand, strong competition among training institutions, the decline of many classical disciplines, and the rise of new interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary disciplines aimed at solving the problems of an integrated society…

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Nam (Head of Training Department) presented proposals from various units on reforming postgraduate training.

Therefore, the need to modernize, standardize, and improve the efficiency of postgraduate education must be accelerated in the coming period. To achieve this, each department must proactively and actively improve its work, constantly striving for innovation and enhancing the quality of training. The university has identified 2019 as a pivotal year in the goal of standardizing postgraduate training with specific activities and tasks. The Training Department will continue to expand reforms in management processes and simplify procedures: a single set of documents from enrollment to graduation; a single card for all library and banking activities; upgrading the postgraduate training management software; compiling regulations and providing professional training for postgraduate assistants; continuing to expand the "one-stop" application model for students and researchers; applying anti-plagiarism software to review theses and dissertations before official defense….

Mr. Hoang Van Quynh (Deputy Head of Training Department) reported on the results of postgraduate enrollment activities in 2018.

Regarding the training units, Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan requested a comprehensive review of the course organization process, the system of management and archiving documents, and investment in improving the scientific quality of teaching activities, thesis and dissertation evaluation, etc., in accordance with the scientific position and role of the unit as stipulated by the Department Regulations of Hanoi National University.

Contributing to the overall policy of innovation and improvement of postgraduate training quality, the Conference noted many contributions from representatives of various units such as: Assoc.
