During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh welcomed the delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. As one of the key units of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the University is implementing an internationalization strategy through increased international publications and expanded international relations. The University has signed memoranda of understanding with over 300 international partners, with Chinese partners accounting for the majority. The Rector stated that Vietnam and China share many similarities that the two universities can leverage to develop practical collaborations in the future.
In response, Professor Liu Jianda expressed his honor at being warmly welcomed by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He stated that Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Foreign Trade signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in 2012 and began sending students to study Vietnamese there in 2016. Based on this, he proposed additional cooperation activities such as organizing other short-term courses on Vietnamese history, culture, economics, and society for Chinese students.
Professor Pham Quang Minh agreed with Professor Luu Kien Dat's proposals. For reference, the Rector also introduced some joint training courses that the University co-organizes with partners such as the University of Stirling and the University of Nottingham (UK), the University of Zurich (Switzerland), and the University of Toulouse II (France).

Guangdong University of Foreign Languages and Foreign Trade (GUFD) was established in 1956 through the merger of Guangzhou Foreign Language Institute and Guangzhou Foreign Trade Institute. GNU has 35,000 students, including 3,000 international students. GNU offers training in 26 foreign languages and has relationships with over 400 partners from more than 40 countries.
