Opening of external assessment of bachelor's training program in Vietnamese Studies and Psychology

The opening ceremony was attended by the School Board of Directors, leaders of functional departments, leaders and collective leaders, lecturers and staff of the Departments of Psychology and Vietnamese Studies. The external assessment expert delegation of the Center for Education Quality Assessment, Ho Chi Minh City National University for the Vietnamese Studies major was led by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hoi Nghia (Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City National University) and for the Psychology major was led by Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh (Director of the Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment, Ho Chi Minh City National University). Previously, according to the plan, the delegation conducted a preliminary survey of these two training programs. These are two training programs evaluated according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Overview of the opening session

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Rector of the University welcomed the delegation of experts, and emphasized the important role of quality assessment activities in improving the quality of training, affirming the prestige and position of the University. In 2006, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU was one of the first 20 universities in Vietnam to conduct quality assessment. Up to now, the quality assessment activities of the University have achieved important achievements and become a regular activity of the University. According to the plan for 2017, the two departments of Psychology and Vietnamese Studies will welcome the delegation of external assessment experts according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training, after that, it is expected that 5 more training programs will be assessed.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoi Nghia, Vice President of VNU-HCM, Head of the evaluation team: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU is one of the strong and pioneering units in quality assessment in the country. The University is striving to affirm its brand and the quality of its training activities through regular quality assessment according to domestic and regional standards. The evaluation team, consisting of experienced experts with expertise closely related to the assessed industry, will work hard to ensure objectivity and accuracy in the assessment, thereby providing useful recommendations for the University.

The working program of the Evaluation Team took place over 3 days, from March 23 to 25, 2017.
