Always innovate the content of activities
One of the important factors that created those successes is that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Trade Union has received close attention and direction from the Party Committee of the University, the Trade Union of VNU, the Vietnam Education Trade Union, the close coordination and facilitation of the University Board of Directors, leaders of units, the consensus and response of all union members, the enthusiasm, eagerness and responsibility of union officials at all levels.
To meet the tasks in the new situation, the Union always innovates the content of activities, many activities go into depth to motivate and encourage the staff and civil servants to work with all their heart and the highest sense of responsibility to complete the tasks. Considering the care of the lives of union members as the number one priority task, for many years, the Union has coordinated with the government in building regimes, policies, regulations on internal spending, and rewards for staff and civil servants, contributing to ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of workers. The average income of staff and civil servants in 2016 reached over 11 million VND/month. For staff and civil servants in difficult circumstances, the Union has many forms of concern. On the occasion of November 20 or Lunar New Year, the Union always supports or organizes delegations to visit, encourage, wish a happy new year and give gifts to families in difficult circumstances. In 2013, the Union establishedHumanity Fundto encourage and help cadres in special circumstances or suffering from serious illnesses. After 3 years of operation, the Fund has supported 18 union members with a total amount of 131 million VND. To create connections and solidarity between units, the Women's Union of the School regularly organizes field trips, cooking competitions, flower arrangement competitions, etc. Organizes seminars, beauty consultations, and health care for women.
Every year, the School Trade Union coordinates with the Board of Directors to direct, guide and urge units to organize conferences for cadres and civil servants. From these forums, cadres and civil servants are directly involved in developing the internal rules and regulations of the unit, thereby practically protecting the legitimate rights and interests of employees.
Promote emulation movements
Identifying the patriotic emulation movement as a particularly important political task because it is closely linked to the training and research results of the School, right from the beginning of the term, the School's Union has made the patriotic emulation movement one of the six key tasks in the full-term program of activities of the Executive Committee with the goal of promoting the movement effectively as the emulation movement "Good worker", “Study and follow Ho Chi Minh's moral example”, “Innovation in teaching and learning”. In order for the emulation movement to become a mass movement and bring high efficiency, every year, on the occasion of the Conference of cadres and civil servants, the School's Trade Union Executive Committee summarizes and launches the emulation movement among all cadres and civil servants.
To ensure the most effective activities, immediately after the 29th Congress, the School Trade Union issued important documents such as the Operating Regulations, the Emulation and Reward Regulations, the Regulations on Coordination of Activities between the Board of Directors and the School Trade Union Executive Committee... This is the internal legal basis for the School Trade Union to carry out its activities in accordance with the regulations and instructions of the higher-level Trade Union. With a scientific and methodical approach, the School Trade Union has affirmed its role and position in the eyes of the leadership and employees, attracting many cadres to participate in Trade Union activities and be attached to the Trade Union organization. With the concept that only dedicated, responsible and professionally skilled union members can create momentum in union activities, in the past term, the School Union paid special attention to building, training and fostering a team of union members through training courses and professional development for union members on professional expertise and skills such as basic issues of the Labor Code, Trade Union Law, Vietnam Trade Union Charter, trade union congress organization skills, women's work, etc. Actual activities show that the team of union members is increasingly qualified, skilled, dedicated and responsible for the movement, and is an important factor in implementing programs, resolutions of the Executive Committee and union activities.
- As of February 2017, the total number of union members of the School is 530, an increase of 10% compared to 2012. The ratio of union members to employees is 98.2%. Currently, the School has 11 lecturers with the title of Professor, Doctor and 95 Associate Professors, Doctors, 128 staff with PhD degrees and 215 Masters. 100% of lecturers are determined to strive to achieve a doctorate degree or higher. - Over the past 5 years, the School's Trade Union has continuously achieved the title of 'Excellent Strong Trade Union'; received the Comprehensive Emulation Flag of the Vietnam Education Trade Union (2012, 2013), of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (2014), Certificate of Merit of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Certificate of Merit of the Minister of Education and Training (2015). In 2016, the School's Trade Union was proposed by the Emulation and Reward Council of VNU to the President to award the First Class Labor Medal. |
