Attending the second session of the Congress, held on the morning of March 18th, were Mr. Trinh Minh Thai, Deputy Chief of the Central Office of the Youth Union; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Huong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Trade Union, Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Mr. Hoang Dinh Luong, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; on the side of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University; Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University; along with representatives from the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the Trade Union, departments, centers, Party branches of faculties/departments and nearly 200 delegates representing approximately 6000 Youth Union members of the University.
The Congress heard the Report summarizing the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement of the School during the 2014-2017 term and the direction of activities for the 2017-2019 term.
During the past term, the Youth Union and youth movement at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities achieved comprehensive results in all areas of activity. The targets for the entire term were basically completed, with many targets being achieved exceptionally well. The action programs of the University's youth were actively and effectively implemented, contributing to improving the quality of training and fostering the moral and political ideology of the Youth Union members. In the 2014-2017 term, the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities continued to be a leading unit in the movements of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Youth Union and the Hanoi City Youth Union. In 2015, the University's youth were honored to receive the Outstanding Emulation Flag for leading the Youth Union movement among universities, academies, and colleges, and in 2016 received the Outstanding Emulation Flag for three consecutive years from the Central Youth Union.

During the 2017-2019 term, the youth of the University will continue to affirm the pioneering position of the Youth Union organization within the University's political system, uphold traditions, affirm its leading role in the VNU Youth Union movement, gradually develop the unit's specialized expertise in social sciences and humanities in Youth Union work and youth movements, build a strong and stable Youth Union organization that meets the needs of its members and students; and make positive contributions to the overall development of the University.
Accordingly, the operational direction for the next term is to prioritize political and ideological education and character development for union members and students; to link union members' activities with the core tasks of the University and VNU; to focus on supporting the comprehensive development of union members and students based on effectively promoting the role of union members and staff, improving the quality of union affairs, student association affairs, and branch activities; to create an atmosphere of exchange and solidarity, build a humane student style with great ambitions, promote the entrepreneurial spirit, build a youthful, disciplined, and civilized school environment, strengthen external relations activities, and affirm the role of the University's youth in the community.
For the 2017-2019 term, the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities adopted the slogan: "Youth of the Humanities: Dynamic - Creative - Resilient - Integrated".

Speaking at the Congress, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector of the University, acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the University's Youth Union to the overall development of the University in particular and Vietnam National University, Hanoi in general. At the same time, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the University highly appreciated the achievements of the University's youth in implementing two programs: political and ideological education, moral and lifestyle orientation for union members, and cultural, sports, arts, and volunteer activities contributing to the community.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the 2017-2019 term, consisting of 21 members. Comrade Tran Bach Hieu (Faculty of Political Science) was elected as the Secretary of the Youth Union, and Comrades Tran Duc Hoa (Faculty of Information and Library Science) and Ta Thi Bich Ngoc (Faculty of Management Science) were elected as Deputy Secretaries of the Youth Union.
