Faculty of Anthropology welcomes the new school year

Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Principal of the school); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Principal of the school); MSc. Le Thi Quyen (Head of Financial Planning Department); Dr. Pham Huy Cuong (Deputy Head of Political and Student Affairs Department); MSc. Nguyen Van Thuy (Head of Inspection and Legal Department); Dr. Tran Bach Hieu (Secretary of the School Youth Union); Dr. Tran Huu Son (Folklore Association); Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh (Deputy Director of the Institute of Ethnology - Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences); Assoc. Prof. Pham Van Duong (Deputy Director of the Museum of Ethnology); On the side of the Faculty of Anthropology, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Suu (Dean of the Faculty); Prof. Lam Ba Nam (Chairman of the Science and Training Council, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Ethnology and Anthropology). In addition, the ceremony was also attended by a large number of lecturers, students, graduate students and researchers in the Faculty.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Suu gave a speech reviewing the achievements and activities that the Faculty had achieved in the 2016-2017 school year. In the past school year, the teachers and students of the Faculty of Anthropology have made constant efforts to achieve high achievements in study and research. With a long tradition since it was the Department of Ethnology under the Faculty of History, the Faculty of Anthropology has gradually gained an independent position and affirmed its position in the social sciences. Continuing that tradition, the lecturers, students and postgraduates of the Faculty are still improving themselves day by day to step up in study, teaching and research. “We cannot help but be proud of our glorious traditions and achievements, but we also need to continue moving forward with a far-sighted and immediate vision, long-term and short-term, with a mission of a major Anthropology center of the country, implementing high-quality Anthropology research, training professional Anthropology human resources to serve society and the country.” – Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Suu shared.

Also at the ceremony, Dr. Pham Huy Cuong (Deputy Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs) announced the President's decisions to commend students of the Faculty of Anthropology with excellent academic and training achievements in the past school year. At the same time, the Faculty also awarded 5 Pham Huu Dat scholarships to students with difficult circumstances who have made great achievements in their studies. This is a great source of encouragement for students to try harder.

 Dr. Pham Huy Cuong (Deputy Head of Political and Student Affairs Department) announced the awards for students of the Faculty of Anthropology.

Prof. Lam Ba Nam awarded Phan Huu Dat scholarships to 4 students and 1 graduate student in the faculty with good academic achievements and outstanding achievements in their studies.

Present at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Principal of the school) sent his congratulations to the achievements of the collective leadership, lecturers and students of the Faculty. The Principal also emphasized the importance of training human resources in the field of Anthropology in the process of building and developing the country.

Entering the new school year, teachers and students of the Faculty of Anthropology have set goals for themselves, focusing on three major goals:

• Promote the communication and promotion of the image of Anthropology, research products and training of the Faculty of Anthropology.
• Continue to develop the faculty's teaching staff, making the Faculty of Anthropology stronger and stronger in both quantity and quality to firmly step forward in the career of training future Anthropologists.
• Continuing to promote high-quality research activities, teachers strive to bring students enthusiastic lectures that inspire students with passion, determination, and determination to study so that they can build a career in the future, not only for themselves but also for society and the country.
