Party Working Conference 2009

On April 11, 2009, the 2009 Party Conference of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was successfully held.

Attending the conference were Associate Professor Dr. Pham Xuan Hang (Member of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee), Professor Dr. Vu Minh Giang (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of VNU) and leaders of several departments of VNU.

During the morning session, the Conference heard and discussed two reports:

• Report of the Party Standing Committee: The Party Cell has led the work of organizing cadres in the past time and directions in the coming time.
• Report on the assessment of the results of the implementation of personnel organization work in 2008 and solutions for implementing personnel organization work in the coming time.

Regarding the work of TCCB, the Party Committee identified this as a key task in 2009. In the recent past, Party cells have performed their leadership tasks in organizing cadres relatively well. However, there are still some Party cells that have not been proactive in planning management cadres, have not invested much in training and developing the Party among young cadres, and the annual evaluation of cadres still has a sense of deference and fear of criticism.

The report on the work of the school's TCCB affirms that the quality of the staff in general and the teaching staff in particular has a tendency to develop well. However, in terms of structure, compared to the targets set by VNU and the Party Congress of the school for 2010, most have not been achieved. Regarding solutions, the report proposes that after 2010, only lecturers with master's degrees or higher will be recruited, and after 2015, only lecturers with doctoral degrees will be recruited; at the same time, it proposes to invest funds from various sources for training and fostering the staff.

At the beginning of the afternoon session, Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Van Huong (Head of the Party Committee's Propaganda Department) presented a report summarizing two years of implementing the campaign "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral thought". The leading solution proposed and emphasized is to continue "studying" but strongly shifting to "following" Ho Chi Minh's moral example effectively and practically in all activities of the School.

Also in the afternoon session, the Conference listened to Associate Professor Dr. Lam Ba Nam (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee) instruct on Party work with the key contents being the leadership tasks of the Party cell, continuing to innovate the content of Party cell activities and especially the process of considering and admitting new Party members.
