On the occasion of Lao Bunpimay New Year (April 13, 14, 15), on April 13, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized an intimate meeting between the school leaders and Lao students currently studying at the school. Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Gia Lam - Vice Rector of the school - and representatives of the department leaders attended and congratulated the Lao students on their country's traditional holiday.

The Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Gia Lam also affirmed that Lao students will always receive the school's attention and create the best living and studying conditions. This is not only the school's responsibility towards its students but also, more importantly, the special respect of Vietnamese people for the long-standing and sustainable friendship between the two countries. On the occasion of Bunpimay, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Gia Lam also sent his best wishes to Lao students and hoped that they would continue to promote their good traditions during their studies and living in Vietnam, contributing to the overall achievements of the school.
At the meeting, Lao teachers and students talked about many issues in studying such as: difficulties when switching to credit-based learning, difficulties in learning Vietnamese, internships, reality...
Lao students also expressed their gratitude for the care of Vietnamese teachers with unique performances imbued with Lao culture.
On the occasion of Lao traditional New Year, Lao students will have their own celebration activities at the dormitory and continue to receive affection and many congratulations from Vietnamese friends.
Currently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has 10 Laotian students, including 2 graduate students, 3 students from class 53, 3 students from class 51, 1 student from class 50, and 1 student from class 52 studying at the Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Management. Over the years, training Laotian students under the agreement between the two countries has become a tradition of the University since the time of Hanoi University of Science.
