Congratulations to Bunpimay Laos!

On the occasion of the Lao New Year (April 13th, 14th, and 15th), on April 13th, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a cordial meeting between the university's leadership and Lao students currently studying at the university. Associate Professor Pham Gia Lam - Vice Rector of the University - along with representatives from various departments, attended and congratulated the Lao students on their traditional holiday.

On the occasion of the Lao New Year (April 13th, 14th, and 15th), on April 13th, 2009, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a cordial meeting between the university's leadership and Lao students currently studying at the university. Associate Professor Pham Gia Lam - Vice Rector of the University - along with representatives from various departments, attended and congratulated the Lao students on their traditional holiday.

Associate Professor Pham Gia Lam highly praised the achievements of Lao students in recent years: “Over the years, Lao students have always been diligent in their studies, strictly adhering to the University's regulations on academic discipline, integrating well with other students as well as with the living and learning environment at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.” The Associate Professor also affirmed that the University will always care for and provide the best living and learning conditions for Lao students. This is not only the University's responsibility towards its students, but more importantly, it reflects the special respect of the Vietnamese people for the long-standing and enduring friendship between the two countries. On the occasion of the Bunpimay Tet (Lunar New Year), Associate Professor Pham Gia Lam also extended his best wishes to the Lao students and hoped they would continue to uphold their fine traditions during their studies and life in Vietnam, contributing to the overall achievements of the University.

During the meeting, the teachers and Lao students discussed various academic issues such as: difficulties in transitioning to a credit-based system, challenges in learning Vietnamese, internships, and practical experience.

The Lao students also expressed their gratitude for the care and attention of their Vietnamese teachers through unique cultural performances that reflected the distinct traditions of the Lao people.

On the occasion of the traditional Lao New Year, Lao students will have their own celebratory activities at the dormitory and continue to receive affection and many New Year wishes from their Vietnamese friends.

Currently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has 10 Lao students, including 2 postgraduate students, 3 undergraduate students (K53), 3 undergraduate students (K51), 1 undergraduate student (K50), and 1 undergraduate student (K52) studying in the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management. For many years, training Lao students under the agreement between the two countries has been a tradition of the University, dating back to the time of the former Hanoi University.
