On August 7, 2012, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – and Dr. Nguyen Van Son – Director of the Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center – signed a memorandum of understanding between the two units regarding the coordination of research, conservation, and promotion of the values of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site and the Co Loa Ancient Relic Site.This agreement, implemented from 2012 to 2015, includes the following main points: Regarding scientific research, the two sides will cooperate in researching issues related to the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site and the Co Loa Ancient Relic Site, including: researching and collecting documents to restore the space of the Kinh Thien Palace foundation; researching and collecting documents about the two heritage sites; organizing archaeological excavations; organizing seminars and scientific conferences on related topics; and cooperating in the exchange of international experts in the fields of research, preservation, and promotion of the values of these heritage sites. Regarding training, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will support the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center in training staff in the fields of cultural heritage management and research.
