Graduation ceremony and awarding of bachelor's degrees for the 2014-2015 academic year.

On the morning of June 27, 2015, at the auditorium on the 8th floor of building E, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities solemnly held the graduation ceremony and awarded bachelor's degrees for the 2014-2015 academic year to students of the QH-2011-X cohort.

The ceremony was attended by the Third Secretary of the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Vietnam, along with representatives from various departments and centers of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi – Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector, along with members of the Board of Directors, leaders, the Trade Union, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Student Association, heads of faculties and departments, training assistants, political assistants, and student affairs officers from various units. Notably, nearly 1000 new graduates received their diplomas.

Opening the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim delivered a concluding speech for the course: “Four years ago, 1438 students from the QH-2011-X cohort entered the university. After four years of study, through two graduation review periods, 1023 students have met the requirements for graduation. Today, the Rector will award diplomas to a total of 989 students. The percentage of students achieving excellent grades is 1.63%; good: 26.5%; fair: 71.2%; and average: 0.65%. Compared to previous cohorts, this year's graduating students continue to maintain high academic results. K56 students have had 722 scientific research projects, accounting for 48.83%, with 18 students winning first prize in the university-level scientific research competition; 37 students winning second prize, 34 students winning third prize, and 3 students winning ministerial-level scientific research awards. Notably, "157 students from the K56 cohort have been admitted into the Party." At the same time, the professor warmly commended students Vu Trung Hien – K56 Social Work, Mai Mai – K56 International Studies, and Tran Thi Bich Huong – K56 High-Quality History for their achievements in academics, research, and activities within the Youth Union, Student Association, and faculty. Concluding his speech, the professor also urged: "Be confident in integrating into society, humbly strive to become excellent scientists, researchers, and experts to make worthy contributions to your families, yourselves, and the university. Cherish the profound memories of your years at university and continue to maintain the flame of tradition while constantly enhancing the position of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnamese, regional, and international education."

Next, Dr. Tran Ngoc Lieu read the Decision on the Recognition of Graduation Examinations for the first and second batches of students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, for the academic year 2014-2015, and the recognition of regular university graduation and awarding of bachelor's degrees to students in the standard, high-quality, and international training programs. Accordingly, the total number of students receiving bachelor's degrees was 989, with the following numbers of graduates from each faculty: Journalism: 94; Social Work: 64; Political Science: 48; Tourism Studies: 74; Oriental Studies: 74; Han Nom Studies: 23; Management Science (Standard Program): 57; Management Science (High-Quality Program): 3; Library and Information Science: 39; Philosophy (Standard Program): 13; (High-Quality Program): 6; Literature (Standard Program): 54; Literature (High-Quality Program): 21; Vietnamese Studies: 49; Social Work: 42. Tourism and Travel Management: 14 students, the rest are from the History Department (standard and high-quality programs).

At the ceremony, Vu Thien Thuy Hien, a student from the K56 Literature program (High-Quality Program), spoke on behalf of nearly 1000 new graduates to express their most sincere gratitude and appreciation to the teachers: “This graduation ceremony marks the end of four years of university study and the maturity of each student. Wherever we go, we will always be proud to have studied and researched under the roof of this professional and friendly university. We will continuously strive to repay the kindness of our parents and teachers and reach new heights.”

Continuing the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu – Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department – ​​announced the commendation decisions of the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the Rector of the university. According to the decisions, 9 students were honored with Certificates of Merit from the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi for achieving excellent graduation results throughout their studies; 9 regular students received Certificates of Merit from the Rector for achieving excellent academic results throughout their studies after two graduation review periods in 2015; At the same time, the Rector also awarded certificates of merit to 21 students who were outstanding Youth Union and Student Association officials; 17 students from disadvantaged backgrounds who excelled in their studies; and 271 students who achieved excellent graduation results.

Immediately afterwards, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu continued to preside over the awards ceremony according to the decisions made. Mai Mai, the head of the English Club of the Faculty of International Studies and a new graduate of the Faculty of International Studies, shared: “The diploma is like a certificate of achievement after four years of studying and participating in activities at the university. Holding the diploma in my hand, my emotions overwhelmed me, a mix of joy and sadness because from now on I will no longer be a student of the university.”
