Arts and Culture Festival to Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Government Decree on Vietnam National University, Hanoi

Attending the event were Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khue (Deputy Head of the School Youth Department of the Hanoi City Youth Union, Vice President of the Hanoi City Student Association), Comrade Vu Van Hai (Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, President of the Student Association of Vietnam National University, Hanoi), along with representatives of the leadership and students from the two universities.

In the vibrant atmosphere of the new academic year, the new students showcased their diverse talents through unique and captivating performances, ranging from revolutionary songs like "Spring in the War Zone" and "Oh Vietnam" to popular youth and international pop songs. Besides singing, the students also performed many distinctive dances such as "A Phu's Wife and Husband," "Calling the Moon," Lao dance, bellydance, and hip-hop. Students from the University of Science performed a play reflecting their academic life and perspectives on various social issues in the comedy "Student Life," bringing laughter and much reflection to the young people.

The program also honored the successes in the work of the Youth Union and Student Association and the activities of the youth of the two universities in the past academic year. Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khue (Deputy Head of the School Youth Department of the Hanoi City Youth Union, Vice President of the Hanoi City Student Association) presented certificates of merit from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Youth Union of the University of Natural Sciences for their outstanding achievements in Youth Union work in the 2012-2013 academic year; and presented certificates of merit from the Vietnam Student Association to the student associations of the two universities for their outstanding contributions to the youth movement in the past academic year. In the "5 Good Students" movement of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences were also the two leading units with 30 outstanding students out of a total of 50 students in the entire Vietnam National University, Hanoi receiving the title of "5 Good Students".

The cultural program was a meaningful exchange night for students from both universities, a platform to showcase the talents and creativity of young people, and a warm welcome from the Youth Union, Student Association, and senior students to the new students of the QH-2013-X cohort. This was also part of a series of activities by the youth of the two universities in particular and the youth of Vietnam National University, Hanoi in general, leading up to the 20th anniversary of the Government Decree on Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
