Art festival to celebrate 20 years of Government Decree on VNU

Attending the event were comrade Nguyen Dinh Khue (Deputy Head of the Youth Union of Hanoi City Youth Union, Vice President of the City Student Association), comrade Vu Van Hai (Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, President of the VNU Student Association), along with representatives of leaders and students of the two universities.

In the bustling atmosphere of the beginning of the new school year, the new students showed their diverse talents through unique and attractive performances, from revolutionary songs such as “Spring in the War Zone”, “Oh Vietnam” to popular youth and international songs. In addition to singing, the students also performed many unique dances such as “A Phu’s Wife”, “Calling the Moon”, Lao dance, bellydance, hiphop… Students of the University of Natural Sciences performed plays reflecting their study life as well as their views on many social issues in the comedy “Student Life”, bringing laughter and much contemplation to the young people.

The program also honored the successes in the Youth Union and Youth Association activities of the two universities in the past school year. Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khue (Deputy Head of the Youth Union of Hanoi City Youth Union, Vice President of the City Student Association) awarded certificates of merit from the Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Youth Union of the University of Natural Sciences for their outstanding achievements in the Youth Union activities in the 2012-2013 school year; and awarded certificates of merit from the Vietnam Student Association to the Student Associations of the two universities for their outstanding contributions to the youth movement in the past school year. In the “5 Good Students” movement of VNU, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences are also the two leading units with 30 outstanding students out of a total of 50 students of VNU receiving the title of “5 Good Students”.

The cultural program is a meaningful exchange night of students from both universities, a playground to show the talents and creativity of young people, a warm welcome from the Youth Union, Association and senior students to the new students of the QH-2013-X course. This is also an activity in a series of activities of the youth of the two universities in particular and the youth of VNU in general towards the 20th anniversary of the Government Decree on VNU.
