On October 31, 2013, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed a cooperation agreement with the Legislative Research Institute of the Korean National Assembly and Seoul National University.

The delegates took a commemorative photo after the signing ceremony.

Attending the signing ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector), Prof. Hoon Jaung (Director of the National Assembly Legislative Research Institute of South Korea), Prof. Dr. Sunghack Lim (Vice Rector of Seoul National University), Dr. Hoang Van Tu (Vice Director of the National Assembly Legislative Research Institute of Vietnam), representatives from the Institute of Policy and Management, the Faculty of Management Science, and the Department of External Relations and International Training Cooperation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Representatives from both sides exchanged and discussed the main contents of the cooperation agreement. The document outlines future cooperation programs such as:

  • Exchange of teaching programs and research projects.
  • Faculty and student exchange
  • Coordinate the organization of international conferences, scientific seminars, and academic exchange meetings.
  • Exchange documents, course journals, books, newspapers, etc.
  • Working together on research projects.

Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh emphasized that the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and South Korea has been developing in all fields. Particularly in the field of education, the Korean Studies program was established early, and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was one of the first higher education institutions in the country to establish and develop cooperative relationships with many universities in South Korea. The Vice Rector expressed confidence in the cooperative relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Korean National Assembly's Legislative Research Institute, and Seoul National University.

Representatives from the Korean Institute for Legislative Studies and Seoul National University expressed their hope that collaborative programs would be implemented and expanded further in the future.

The Institute for Legislative Studies of the Korean National Assembly, under the Korean National Assembly, has the following functions: organizing exchanges with domestic and international scholars; selecting researchers and students to work at the Institute; and funding domestic and international research projects.

Seoul National University was founded in 1918 in Seoul, South Korea. Currently, Seoul National University comprises seven colleges with nearly 90 academic programs and over 10,000 students and trainees.
