Attending the workshop were Dr. Trinh Ngoc Thach (Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, and Children), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Ha (Deputy Chairman of the KX.06-11-15 Program, Director of the International Relations Department, Ministry of Science and Technology), along with scientists from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Departments of Science and Technology of several provinces.
The workshop is part of the State-level project KX.06.06/11-15: “Research and analysis of Vietnam's science, technology and innovation system in the trend of international scientific and technological integration” (under the State-level key science and technology program KX.06/11-15: “Research and Development of international integration in science and technology”), with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as the lead institution and Dr. Dao Thanh Truong as the project leader.
Dr. Dao Thanh Truong (Project Leader) presented the introductory report at the seminar.
The research project KX.06.06/11-15 was implemented to achieve several objectives: Identifying the current national innovation system in Vietnam in the context of international science and technology integration; Analyzing the role of the science, technology, and innovation (STI) system in socio-economic development; Proposing policy solutions to promote the integration of Vietnam's science, technology, and innovation system into international science and technology; and Enhancing the capacity of staff involved in research and analysis of Vietnam's innovation policy.
More than 20 papers were presented in two sessions: Overview of science, technology and innovation; Assessment of the practical activities of science, technology and innovation in Vietnam in the trend of international scientific and technological integration.
At the workshop, delegates discussed and contributed ideas to the project team on various issues surrounding the main contents:
- To standardize concepts and perspectives on STI systems in the context of international science and technology integration.
- Theoretical approaches in the study of STI systems.
- Evaluating STI policies in Vietnam in the context of international integration in science and technology.
- The practical application of STI systems and policies to promote STI in several countries.
- Assessing the role of STI systems and STI capabilities within organizations in socio-economic development in the context of international integration.
- Developing human resources in science and technology to serve Vietnam's STI system in the context of international science and technology integration.
