This is an annual contest, sponsored by the Korean Literature Translation Institute, for students who love Korean literature nationwide. The contest aims to encourage students to express their passion for reading, as well as create opportunities for excellent Korean literary works to reach Vietnamese readers.

This year, the contest requires writing about the novel “Toy City” by author Lee Dong-ha, translated by Do Thi Khanh Van. There were more than 200 entries sent from students and graduate students from 20 high schools and universities nationwide, including many large schools such as: VNU, Hanoi University, Foreign Trade University, University of Commerce, University of Labor and Social Affairs, Trade Union University, Diplomatic Academy, University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU-HCM, Dalat University, Hue University, Hanoi College of Arts, Central Pedagogical College, Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, etc.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year's contest is outstanding in the number of entries and the number of universities and high schools with contestants participating. The contest not only attracts students majoring in Korean language and Korean studies, but also has the active participation of students majoring in literature, sociology, international relations, economics, etc. The large number of high school students participating is also a special feature of this year's contest, proving the increasingly widespread influence of this contest to many young people who love Korean literature and culture regardless of age and region.

The jury of the contest is composed of leading experts in Korean Studies, Foreign Languages, and Korean Literature from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Hanoi University. After many rounds of judging, the jury awarded 01 First Prize, 02 Second Prizes, 03 Third Prizes, and 10 Encouragement Prizes. The first prize-winning entry will be submitted to the international competition on Korean Literature Appreciation taking place at the end of this year. The winner will receive a reward of a 1-week visit to Korea.

The first prize went to Huynh Thi To Uyen (Faculty of Korean Studies – University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU-HCM); the second prize went to Vu Lien Huong (Faculty of Korean – Hanoi University) and Nguyen Thi Ngan (Faculty of Literature – University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU-Hanoi); the third prize went to Nguyen Thi Yen (Faculty of Oriental Studies – University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU-Hanoi), Le Thi Tuyet Ngan (Faculty of Economics – Foreign Trade University), Nguyen Thi Huong (Faculty of Oriental Studies – University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU-Hanoi). The Faculty of Oriental Studies (University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU-Hanoi) was awarded the collective prize for having the largest number of entries.
