On behalf of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector) delivered a welcome speech to lecturers and students from Daejin University, Korea, who visited the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and attended the seminar "Interdisciplinary approach to studying the political and administrative systems of Vietnam and Korea". Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh emphasized: Daejin University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed a memorandum of understanding in 2012, and the academic exchange between lecturers and students of the two schools today is one of the contents of the cooperation program between the two sides. This is also the result of the good cooperative relationship between the two schools over the past time.
Professor Kim Jeong Hwa said: Vietnam and Korea have many similarities in culture and society and he hopes that in the future the two schools will have more exchange and cooperation activities.
Within the framework of the seminar “Interdisciplinary approach to studying the political and administrative systems of Vietnam and Korea”, students from the two schools gave presentations introducing Vietnamese and Korean culture, Vietnam-Korea relations, etc. In particular, students from the Department of Korean Studies gave an impressive presentation on traditional costumes of Vietnamese ethnic groups and the folk art of water puppetry.
On this occasion, Daejin University donated 160 books to the Department of Korean Studies. Previously, Daejin University also awarded a scholarship to a student of the Department of Korean Studies to study Korean at the University.
On the same day, students from both schools also organized a badminton competition along with other cultural and artistic exchange activities.
