Nearly 170 volunteer students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities attended the 2011 Volunteer Departure Ceremony for Hanoi's residential areas, organized by the Hanoi Youth Union, on the morning of July 15, 2011.This year, the Green Summer Team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will focus mainly on Soc Son district (Hanoi) from July 15 to August 5, 2011 with 5 groups in 5 different communes:
- Phu Cuong commune: includes 29 students from the departments of Archival Studies and Office Administration, Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, Information - Library, and Sociology.
- Thanh Xuan commune: includes 40 students from the faculties of International Studies and Political Science
- Tan Dan commune: including 36 students of the Faculty of History
- Minh Tri commune: includes 30 students from the departments of Psychology, Management Science, Political Science, and Philosophy
- Hien Ninh commune: includes 29 students of the Faculty of Literature
Accompanying each group are 1 to 2 campaign reporters who are students of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication. This is an opportunity for union members and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to promote their professional capacity, intelligence and enthusiasm to contribute to the cause of economic, cultural and social development in some localities. On the same day, July 15, 03 students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities departed with the volunteer student group of VNU to operate in Ha Giang. Previously, from July 6, 120 students supporting the exam season started and successfully completed the task in the second round of university entrance exams. In addition to the above volunteer models, a new point this year is the information investigation activity of 2,000 alumni with the participation of 50 volunteer students.

The 2011 Youth Volunteer Summer is a practical activity in response to the Youth Year. The campaign is an opportunity for students of the school to exchange experiences in union work and student movements with youth from several localities; creating conditions for students to be exposed to real life, combining learning with practice, contributing to building the right motivation for learning. Through the Youth Volunteer Summer, students have the opportunity to practice their political qualities and professional skills, contributing to improving the effectiveness of the Youth Union and Student Association. This year's campaign will last until August 31, 2011.
